When the police give you instructions you follow them, you don't walk away from a police officer aiming anything at you! They have to be cautious in everything they do or they get killed doing something as routine as handing out a traffic ticket. What a stupid goof - if the police were aiming a taser at me, I would freeze like someone hit me with liquid nitrogen. Does anyone remember the scene in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation where the SWAT team swarms the house?

Actually cops aren't supposed to shoot people who just "walk away", they are only supposed to shoot if someone is in imminent danger of being harmed, mauled, killed, stabbed, shot, hit with a pipe, etc. by someone like a person or something like an animal. Even if a guy is running down the street with a bag of cash right after robbing a bank, cops can't just shoot him unless he's got a weapon and appears to be about to use it on someone. No weapon and just running, they can't shoot him or they will go to prison.

There is no evidence in that video that the cops did anything wrong.

Up here they used to use the taser just to get someone under control, but they were temporarily restricted pending a safety investigation a couple of years ago. The point though is whether or not the police are allowed to shoot me with a taser given the circumstances, if a cop pulls one out and aims it at me, I am not going to argue the point at that moment! I will freeze and follow instructions very carefully and then let my lawyer argue the point of law when I am no longer at risk of getting shot. Those things can kill you.

i've been seeing a lot of cases here lately of tasers being used and the victim dying.don't know if its from the electrical charge that maybe doing something to the person's body or what it is but they are saying those tasers can kill a person.

I'd like to add to this that first off, we don't know much about this video or how authentic it is. There are a few things about it that I see and do not see that suggests to me that this may not be what it appears to be. And when the cops are utilizing the level of resources that are being portrayed in this video, they don't bust down someones door like that unless they've sent in undercovers to confirm what's going on at that house before hand.

Bottom line, when the law comes knocking.....answer the fucking door pronto! Had he answered the door from the get go, they wouldn't have busted down the door and shot an animal that they felt possed a threat. Maybe get a cat instead cause I've never heard of cops busting in and neutralizing a housecat. Cat's are smart and had these people had a cat, it would have ran and hid under a bed or something and been alive today to talk about it.

What do you expect when you own a pit bull? I've yet to hear or know of a single person in real life besides white trash and ghetto thugz that own pit bulls/rottweilers etc. Even people I know who love dogs would never consider owning a dog like that.

This video shows a search warrant served by the Columbia Mo. police department. The cops bust in this guys house in the middle of the night and shoot his two dogs (one a pit bull that was caged in the kitchen and the other a Corgi) with children in the home. it turns out that rather than a big time drug dealer, this guy had a small pipe with some resin in it, a grinder, and what the cops here call "a small amount of marijuana" (meaning less than a few grams). We here in Comlumbia want everyone to know what kind of police department we have here, check out our "finest" in action.

I see. Well this caption could be a fine piece of propaganda for all any of us really know for sure. Yeah, cops are really going to shoot a caged dog. If this was true, I think we would have heard about it in the news by now. I'm really starting to think this is fake now. If it's not, hell I may want to move to Columbia MO, sounds like they got a real no bullshit zero talerance system in place over there and I like that!

Thats pretty fucked up.As dark as it was they re lucky they didnt shoot the kids, fuckers. There was a cop where I live that shot a dog that was chained up,and the people werent even home

Ditto. Our neighbor's dog is a pit-bull X and she's one of the sweetest dogs I've met (although come to think of it they are kinda trashy at times ). Likewise a good friend and co-worker (also not trashy or a thug) has a purebread Pit Bull - also a big suck but I have to admit his sheer size and strength makes me nervous, and I love dogs. Finally, one of my sisters raises and shows Rotties - rich and snooty, yes, but no thug

Despite what the video summery says, I don't think they killed the Pitbull. I'm pretty sure it was only the Corgi who got mowed down.
