Is The Thrill Gone For Good?

Postby Voyager » Wed May 12, 2010 2:17 am

This place seems dead anymore. I used to get a few laughs when I came here, but it seems like most of the regulars who made jokes have abandonded the place. What made everything become so sterile?

I think a lot if it has to do with the fact that there aren't any great albums coming out any time soon. Bands aren't really doing anything worth discussing, and Journey isn't even touring this year. Until something new happens, there just isn't much to talk about. How many times can we discuss favorite albums, favorite singers, discuss politics, sports, etc... it's just kinda boring in the music business right now. Also, Andrew hasn't had any great interviews recently, and hasn't listed the cd's that are coming out this year. Maybe if he'd update the releases, we'd have something to talk about...

There have been some great albums that have just came out. The new "Treat" and "Crazy Lixx" albums are killa, trust me, you should get them ASAP. I just picked up the new Asia album as well, and it is really good, much better than the last one.

No good albums coming out? Are you kidding me? Get the new RATT album. Definitely one of their best from top to bottom. 3/5 of the original band (4/5 if you consider Robbie Crane who's been with them over a decade), along with the addition of the mighty Carlos Cavazo (from Quiet Riot)...that's one hell of a lineup and they delivered on this one.

Well, personal "issues" sometimes shut me down, you know, from being typically silly MOCHA. Forgive me for that. But, I am using my writing to help me cope! :D Currently, I am working on a 50,000-70,000 word manuscript for a new novel. So far I am only on Chapter 6 of a 25 chapter book. Writing is VERY lonely and focus is essential, so there it is.

Hey, I keep saying I will try harder to focus on the MR forum and I will. Hope you all are having a great week so far! :D MBPL

I apologize for not posting but I've been busy at work. I was going to do a long post and maybe I'll do that next week. But I'll just get to the point and make it brief for now.

Andrew, if you want my advice, I have to recommend (unfortunately) close it down for your and your family's sake. There's nothing left to do. The scene is dead and has been dead for awhile in my opinion. There's nothing left to squeeze out of it. You've tried and have done a commendable job keeping it alive as long you have. But there's nothing left you can do. Realistically, there is no formula that works for you to survive, even thinking out of the box. You could probably downsize and do this part time for the joy and a couple of extra dollars. But, I can't see this being a full time gig (financially) for you to support yourself and your family. Hopefully, we can discuss in more detail next week. I should have some time by mid-week.

Sincerely,

Tito
