No it never is. But we all like to drive our cars, right? We are so dependent on oil, yet no one thinks about what they'd give up if we didn't use it. You can't have it both ways. Accidents will happen.

Yeah, but there is more than enough oil inland in the USA where chances of a spill are eliminated because the wellhead is not a mile below the surface.

I think anywhere they pump it there could be accidents that would affect the environment. Look at how much oil is in Alaska, and environmentalists fight it every step of the way. People just want to depend on foreign oil and I guess we don't care about their environment?

That's retarded, Lynn. Accidents won't happen as long as there's a decent protocol on how things are done.

I don't get why you would need all that oil either. It's soon to be a obsolete energy form anyway. Hydrogen/electricity/solar panels for cars, and nuclear power for electricity and other energy needs (since it's both the safest and best environmental choice)

Accidents will always happen because humans are in charge

And those OTHER forms of energy will never take over because of the money and power involved in oil

Murphy's, Gravity...it's the law.

Is that anything like saying "people are stupid" it's the law? No way anything is 100% safe from fail when people are involved in said protocols.

No, accidents happen when we lose charge/control. :P

Are we talking about oil explosions or incontinence :?

I say- OK no more drilling except on land. Realize that China will be drilling in the Gulf and they can't even get the lead out of anything they manufacture. The caveat is- every enviromentalist swears to turn in their drivers licenses and NO private flights ! Here that Al Gore? Right now there is nothing that cars could run on near the price of gas. Now, if you want to be like Britain and pay $ 11.00 a gallon then switch if anything is available, be my guest .

Sarah Palin is paying them off, funded under the table by Rush Limbaugh.

Drill baby drill - it gives Joe Sixpack a job! (Then when Joe gets laid off he can clean the tar balls off of the Gulf coast beaches.)
