These four fuckin monsters aren't worth the drugs they should get pumped into their veins to snuff 'em out. At least this guy went like a hero defending his family from these fuckin punks.

I saw this on the Today show yesterday. Though I know these things are rare, being an ebay seller myself, it is kind of scary. We do on occassion have buyers who are local wanting to avoid shipping fees and come to pick up items themselves. The few times people have come here, I guess we feel a little safer with my husband being a cop and the fact he has his police car out front. And he always goes and grabs his gun and puts it in his pants under his shirt when they've gotten to the door. He's always on his guard with people in general anyway. And actually, I think he got smarter more recently when he had a guy meet him at the mall to pick up his item instead of our home. Though these things are rare, it's so tragic and horrible that we have so many sick people in this world :x :x I cant' imagine how his kids will ever recover from this trauma. :(

Very sad and scary. I won't post anything on Craigslist, I don't want anyone showing up at my home. My sister-in-law sells on Craigslist and has people coming and going from her house every week. I've warned her many times to be careful. It's sad, you just can't trust anyone.

I sell on Ebay too. A few times people wanted to save on shipping and pick the item up. I always met them at a public place and brought a friend with me, just in case. Luckily I didn't have any problems.

I've only sold things on Craigslist, never boughten. I always meet the person at a fast food joint half way between both of our homes. I go with three other people and don't identify myself until I'm sure the guy is alone or is with less people than are with me. I know it sounds like I'm being paranoid but someone has to make up that 2% that get their head kicked in and robbed and I don't want it to me.

Always meet up at a public location!

I hate to say it but these people bringing potential buyers into their private home to look at a $1k ring were not being smart.

I see both sides... but it's really sad that you can't transact a little business within the sanctity of your own home. Bet these killers voted Democrat

VERY sad, but this is a cautionary tale, to be sure. I purchased things on EBAY and sold a couple of my costumes there, but I always paid shipping. I don't want to see anyone, just purchase or sell and be done with it.

As far as doing business at home, well you know my home is my sanctuary, I won't do business transactions there. And I am too hesitant to visit a strangers' home. And good lord, if I went to a home to purchase something and there to greet me were cops with guns? I'd run! Of course people have a right to protect themselves, but naw, I'll pass!

I think online face-to-face transactions probably should be in a public place with lots of people around, hell even a mall will do! As for those kids, they planned this attack, I believe they should get the maximum penalty.

Funny Matt !!!! Too funny! I never do any business on computer . I have sold over 400 items on ebay but all is shipped USPS. I want nothing to do with Craigslist as there will always be perverted people figuring...... SO far only a few incidents regarding the home visits of cencus takers. I think there was a rape by one census taker and a citizen trying to take an ax to a census taker.
