Finally chose a smartphone. Downside, I'm getting a different phone number, but whatever.
Not the first time. Probably not the last.


Meet my new toy... the new HTC Droid Incredible:




Now, just have to wait for it to arrive (the stores don't have them for some stupid reason).
Now I have a really expensive phone with all kinds of bells and whistles for all the calls I never get.

And please, no one share horror stories... I just forked out dough this morning and am stuck in a 2 year, so don't scare me before it even ships...

I fooled with it in the store for all of 5 minutes before I new I wanted it. Easy navigation and stuff loads FAST. Plus, it has really good reviews.

I want that phone too, but i'm not paying an additional $500 deposit because i don't have any credit so i just stick with prepaid .

I have an HTC Touch Diamond (not the same phone, but same brand) and for the most part I like it.

Since you requested no horror stories, I won't tell you about how approximately 1/5 of the calls I get don't come through, voicemails sometimes take about two days to show up and it also turns itself off at will for no apparent reason. I also won't tell you that a friend of mine also has an HTC (I'm not sure which model) and it does the same thing. I won't tell you that stuff cuz those would be horror stories, I hope you enjoy your phone!

I don't have those problems w/this phone in my area!!

Is it the phone or the service!?! I was an Alltel customer and became a Verizon customer
unwillingly ...I immediately had problems with dropped calls on all of my phones, but I'm
giving it time, as I was asked, and things are improving!! Apparently, some parts of the US
have better Verizon service than others!! It's beyond my level of comprehension ...

I've had Verizon for 5 years. The calls and voicemails not coming through is likely related to coverage area... I had that happen once living in Arizona (voicemail popped up two days after the caller left the message), but others out there told me that it happened to them several times too... had Verizon in Chicago for close to 4 years now with 2 different phones and that's never happened. The freezing up thing is not an HTC issue. That happens with probably most of these types of phones... my friend can't use certain apps on hers and it's neither an HTC nor on Verizon. It's the nature of the beast with this type of computer technology.

It all depends on the area... and that's with any wireless carrier.

In AZ, I had AT&T, and the reception was absolutely awful. I didn't even get signal in my own damn apartment.

That was why I originally went to Verizon. Out there, the best coverage/signal was on Verizon. I went hiking once, and my companion and I were standing on top of a frickin' mountain - her phone rang and she was able to have a conversation... I looked at my phone and had zero signal. In my office it was the same thing. I had no signal, ever, and had to go outside and across the parking lot to ONE certain spot to get even one bar. Two coworkers who had Verizon would walk around the office talking on their phones.

June 9th is the day they will announce the NEW iphone,,,, and this means the current iPhone 3GS will go down in price,,, my guess it $99 for 16GB and $199 for 32GB....

I have the Droid Eris and love it. Took a week to get used to the touch screen but I love it.

Verizon has great service, but no iPhone, I don't think that the iPhone will be coming to Verizon this year either....I switched to AT&T when VZW refused to up my upgrade eligibility from May to April due to a broken phone and got the iPhone, so now I'm paying both services until June when I cancel VZW numbers for good. But the Incredible is a great phone also.

Since I dropped my iPhone and broke the display within 4 weeks of getting it (it still works, just looks like hell), I'm hoping I can re-RE up when the new iPhones come up next month...

When they came out with the iPad 3G data plan on AT&T I figured there was no way VZW was getting an iPhone this year. The news about the 2012 exclusivity pretty much puts that to rest!

I still don't get why that didn't work with your droid!! It worked with other droids! Something is wrong with your phone

I really want the 3GS:( it just makes no financial sense to do it though:(

you probably would have to pay full price, but I think they are changing the upgrade dates for everyone this month,,,

The second part, very sweet. The first part, not so sweet. We signed an earnest money contract on a house on Friday and they'll start buildng it next month. She's been living in my house since Valentine's Day so we picked a house out together so we can make it "our" home. I'm the lucky one.

I know you did (several times!!). I played around with my friend's iPhone for a little while and I just think I like the Incredible a little bit more. The iPhone interface bores me a little bit. The only advantages with at&t were rollover minutes and that I could use the iPhone as an iPod. but I already have an iPod and I know I'm not on the phone enough to really worry about minutes. The plans I was looking at cost exactly the same on both services and I know with Verizon, I never have signal trouble.
