"day off... recording a couple new songs for you."

They're in the middle of a tour and recording new songs on the fly. Very cool.

cool- but in light of the lyrics comment about Journey from another thread...

Bon Jovi has THE crappiest, most cliche' lyrics of any band I've ever heard.

But Richie is a great player so...

They do!! Crappy cliche sells though! They can sell out an arena full of people of all ages singing their music! The simpler the lyrics, the easier to sing along, the more it sells. Journey is up their with simple lyrics too though. They also have songs very easy to sing along to. Same with REO. The more people can sing and dance the more likely they are to buy a concert ticket. Im speaking for the general public though, not the hard core fans :lol:

I would like to edit and say "80's journey" had the cheesier lyrics. It was a progression :lol:

The lyrics of Bon Jovi's latest single are the WORST. I like Bon Jovi, but they tick me off some times because of the lyrics.

I haven't enjoyed the last two albums very much. The last one I really liked was "Have a Nice Day" though Im sure there is some cheese involved there too. I enjoyed most of that album.

That's what it is! Simple lyrics when we were teens and we needed simple to sing along. And we didn't have the internet to look up lyrics, and Bon Jovi's were SO easy to understand because they were so simple :lol: Not to mention the vocab of a teen is pretty simple too, so it totally related for us. And now as adults it's still fun because of the nostalgia feeling thing I will bring up again! No matter how cheesy, it is STILL fun! :lol:

There's "simple" lyrics and then there are "cliche lyrics that no self-respecting musician would hang their hat on".

SIMPLE = GOOD
CLICHE = BAD

Congregation, please turn your hymnals to "Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars" and "We Weren't Born to Follow".

Makes Jon Cain look like Shakespeare.

You know, rumor has it that Shakespeare was really a woman.

Slippery When Wet remains, to me, one of the finest albums ever to come out. Though it hasn't stood the test of time as well as Escape or Frontiers, it's still one helluva 80's rock album. But they've pretty much released garbage ever since and Bon Jovi using rock concerts to push his agenda more than warrants the tour bus wish.

Political Bull.... ? Yes, just like Springstein,but at least they didn't charge money to tell you what to think unless they did that up east or out west. I do think they have run out of writing gas. But, they sell out huge concerts because of their catalog. I have not bought a cd since the 80's. Their $$$$ come from touring.
