Just picked this cd/dvd up today! Great stuff, sound is great and I love having a mix of live footage and videos on one dvd. And the crystal clear video of them getting their Canadian Hall of Fame award right here at the Saddledome is a great keepsake for this fan. Anybody else get it yet? Thoughts?

Magic Power, one song that makes me smile everytime I hear it.........takes me right back to some GREAT concert times! Sure hope they re-unite for at least a few shows. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os5wH_H7cng

It sounds the same to me, maybe just a little better. One other note, I'm not really digging Triumph's Love Hurts cover (sung by Gil)? :?

It's not re-recordings. Triumph actually went and bought their entire catalog from MCA, they have everything they've ever done in the studio so they just went back and cleaned up the audio a little bit. The originals were recorded so well, there wasn't much for them to do here.

I read where Neal wanted to buy back his solo catalog, I wonder how much it would cost to get Journey back from Sony (or if Sony would even entertain the thought with the way the back catalog keeps selling).

Ya, listened 2 or 3 times and nope, just ain't growing on me. Gil butchers that IMO, he just doesn't have the raw vocal power to throw that one down like Dan McCafferty did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2BjJbKQkgc Seeing Nazareth here in July, I'll let you know if Dan is as good on it anymore either.

*Edit: Holy hell! Maybe I'll just stick with my Nazareth greatest hits cd and pass on seeing them in July, McCafferty sounds awful now, extremely pitchy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-KnMnmLObA

Have to say though, always thought Gil did a smokin' job vocally on the cover of Eric Martin's Just One Night..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVtsKuj22vQ

Definitely! Their GH cd still gets lots of play in my stereo to this day, actually, Holy Roller just came up on my IPOD this morning, great old tune. :) But I must warn you that second clip might hurt your ears a little.  I hope that was more of a one off, cuz if that's what he sounds like now, seriously not sure if I want to see a show next month? :?
