Verizon Droid X 720p to battle iphone 4 Retina Display

To those suckers who a) didnt wait for iPhone 4 and b) settled for a regular Droid (Yes you, BJG
), Verizon is now teasing with Droid X with high resolution screen and recording.
Verizon has a teaser up for their new, big DROID X which is claiming a 4.3″, 720p display (which is usually 1280×720) — a significant challenge to the iPhone 4’s 3.5″ 960×640 “Retina Display“.
It’s more pixels but it’s also a bigger display, so it could net out to the same pixel-per-inch count — somewhere above the magical 300 mark. It’s also teasing HDMI out.

Anyway i just don't see the need to have super smart phones like this and the i phone etc, all i need is a phone that makes calls and sends text messages and i got that. Please tell me why i need a phone like this or i phone?

I'm happy with my phone, B.
And anyway, by the time I'm up for a new one, there will be some kind of Super Stellar iDroid X5000 8g network with a 16ghz processor, 60 mpx camera, a built in Kindle/iPod/Guitar Hero/camcorder, wifi within 20 miles, and the abilty to do my laundry, so I'm not really worried about missing out.

Dang, all you'd be missing at that point is the ability for it to double as a vibrator as well.
