iPhone OS Upgrade and Car Stereos

I'm in the market for a new car stereo that will allow me to control and listen to my music collection on my iPhone. I'm starting to read that some many people with existing car stereos that have this capability are running into issues after they've updated their iPhone or iTouch with the new iOS4 operating system...
It also seems that Apple did add some hidden functionality just for using your iPhone on car stereos but, of course, they require car stereos capable of working with iOS4. Looks like I may be holding off a bit on what car stereo to buy.
Any other news, problems or comments on Apples new iOS4 and how it's playing in the real world yet?
Thanks,
Joe

As long as the car stereo has a jack input and the iPhone, Droid, Blackberry, etc... has a headphone output, it should play the tunes just fine. I can plug my Droid into my Kenwood and play the music from the phone through the car stereo without a problem

The iOS4 upgrade is not doing so well with many of the 3G phones either. Including the one I will no longer need. It caused me issues with my itunes now that I still can't get fixed with apple's help for hours. BUT, I have the Iphone 4 and it is an AWESOME phone. I would assume since it is made WITH the upgrade.

Now Im thinking that the new itunes update is what caused my issues, and not the ios4 update. But it could be either!! Why have 2 updates at one time??? Just more chances of glitches
Anyway, the iOS4 is great. Love the new features and the phone.

hmm!! interesting! I noticed that in one of the rooms in my house that my IP4 has only 1 bar which is NOT typical in my house at all. This makes no sense though. Why would how you hold the phone affect the signal?

Still probably has better reception than Sprint right now, ugh

Ever since they put out their 4G phone, my reception has gone to crap, and so have other people's I know who have Sprint too.

I'm so disappointed in iOS 4. Finally, an Apple release I actually cared about and waited for.
But sadly it turns out I have a 2nd generation iPod touch, and after upgrading and wondering how to change my home screen wallpaper, I finally saw the fine print that said the main features I was looking forward to wouldn't be available on 2nd gen iPod touches. No multitasking and no home screen wallpaper.
So in the end my iPod has lost another half gig of its already limited space (it went from 7 GB to 6.5 GB), my game apps either lag or don't even open at all so I have to hope for updates, and I get only one of the features of iOS4 that I wanted... the folders. I could probably roll it back somehow but it'll still prompt me to upgrade every time i plug it in.
*grumbles*

Love iOS4 on my iPhone 4.
VideoCalling (FaceTime) is incredible. The new Retina display is the finest cellphone display Ive ever seen. There are so many neat features, like the HD video and editing with iMovie.
And the "Places" in your photos folder, which shows a map of the workd and drops pins in different areas where you took pics and shows you which pics where taken where !
