Worst state in the union and a huge liability to this country. We should sell it to Mexico and be done with it.

While we are at it, maybe we can cede Michigan as a new homeland for the Palestinians.

(June 24) -- A Southern California city caught in a budget squeeze has fired its entire workforce, including police. But don't get any ideas when you walk into a bank there.

The city council in Maywood voted to outsource the municipality's jobs, so there will be police protection.

"We will become 100 percent a contracted city," Angela Spaccia, Maywood's interim city manager, told the Los Angeles Times. By the looks of it, Spaccia may not hold the position for very long.

Beginning July 1, the East Los Angeles sheriff's station will provide patrols for the city of 29,000 residents, and the city of Bell, next door, will provide other services, like parks and recreation.

The west coast & the northern east coast have been infected for decades. Other states like Il, Minn, Colorado too ! You get the taxing party you deserve !!! You put them in power so don't ask the rest of the country for bailouts.

What is the big deal here? If a person is going to make a bad decision of gambling their welfare/unemployment then what is going to stop them from walking across the street or stopping at a bank ATM on the way.

I totally agree that they should not be gambling this money, but almost all states issue these funds on Visa/MasterCards and that means people can get money just about anywhere and do what they will.

Being from Vegas, I guess I am desensitized to casinos. It is just everyday life here.

The cards here don't work in any ATMs. They can't be used to withdraw cash. They can only be used to buy food and certain otc medicines. I wish they would crack down on the types of food that can be bought. They should have to buy only healthy foods and not candy, chips and shit like that.

Yes, you are!! If the government can tell us that we are going to pay for
the welfare of these people than by god they better be able to control how these
people spend OUR money!!!
