US socialite Paris Hilton has appeared in a South African court following her arrest after a World Cup game.

Ms Hilton was arrested in Port Elizabeth after the Netherlands' defeat of Brazil in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

She appeared at a special court set up to process cases during the World Cup on Friday evening.

The details of her charges have not been released and the court hearing went ahead behind closed doors.

I've actually heard that she is somewhat of a nice person in reality...even though I detest the very validity of her celebrity, she is one rich chick

There's such a vacuousness to her. She's almost thirty and seems to be the same. She swore she was going to stop the baby talk voice after she got arrested. I saw her on Letterman and she was still doing the baby talk and just doesn't have much depth to her. I love how she came out in an interview and said she had only slept with a couple men. But I have to give her this much, she is a beautiful girl, beautiful bone structure to her face reminiscent of old Hollywood in photos.

All charges were dropped!!! Damn, I was really hoping they'd keep her.

Anyone who knows me know that I am absolutely against marijuana or "the pot" as the kids call it. But this is just insane. Arresting someone on "suspicion" of smoking marijuana? LOL....That's laughable, coming from a country that imprisoned Mandela for so many years. And no, I am serious. About smoking marijuana, or being suspicious even of it.
