Good Lord! I had the misfortune of walking past the TV while "The Bachelorette" was on and seeing the bump for the Jake & Vienna segment. Naturally curious, I had to watch. All three segments of it.

What an absolutely horrid couple. I know people in fairy-tale land like to separate these characters into heroes, victims & villains, and these clowns know that so they play off of it to the utmost. Let me start with Jake. What a completely unadulterated, amateur-hour COCK this guy is. Dude was all smarm and smirk, playing for the cameras. No pulse, no emotion, no human element to the guy whatsoever, and he had nothing at all of substance to say. It was all very abstract and self-directed, like "All I can say, Chris, is I'm utterly stunned at how she could do this to me", or "I knew it was going south, but I was still determined to fight for the relationship". Just non-specific soundbyte drivel. I could tell he's one of these guys who lives in his own image fantasy of being intriguing, complex, mysterious, charming, well-traveled, a man of exquisite tastes -- all that faux-Yuppie Richard Gere / James Bond wannabe B.S. When he finally did give some examples, they were mainly about how she "undermined him" constantly. Never acknowledged her feelings a single time and the way he talked about her, it was pretty obvious he only needed her to fill the arm candy role. He literally said at the beginning, "I'm not afraid of anything. I've done nothing wrong." I wanted to kick him in the nutsack.

Now Vienna, she ruined any chance she had of gaining victim sympathy (from anyone with a brain anyway). Histrionic, unreasonable, and also equally as incapable of fathoming any responsibility. She was just on a mission to tear him down, starting with selling all the sordid details of their failing relationship to a tabloid -- her justification was that she knew he would do it if she didn't. Crazy ditz also didn't let him get a word edgewise, and I doubt he ever completed more than a sentence before she interrupted and started amping up the drama. The pinnacle of the "interview" was when we got to see a glimpse of his power as he forcefully commanded her to silence, hand motion and all. She immediately started bawling and said that's what their whole relationship had been like and stormed off, cameras following to capture the fullness of her meltdown.

Amazingly, they continued into a 3rd segment and it was good she wasn't there so he could actually string 3-4 words together without interruption. Not that it mattered. He was as fake as a $3 bill and it was pretty obvious. Except for maybe the next aspiring Bachelorette who falls for that Prince Charming, pilot image.

Saw that too, Vienna has always been in it for the fame, and I liked Jake last season, but he seems to be just another fame whore too now.

On another note.......Ali, pick Roberto, seems to be a nice guy..........and did you see those yummy dimples!

If you're going to make these kinds of threads would you at least distribute some barf bags?

I couldn't stand Vienna when he chose her. But even if she did interrupt him way too much, she had emotion and is genuinely hurt and would look at him when she talked. Jake was cold, seemed to have rage in his eyes, and has given several different reasons in interviews why he stopped touching Vienna, having sex, etc., and she has given another three that he used on her, like he was fasting, now wanted to wait until marriage, etc. He was vague and smug the whole time in this interview tonight.

Basically, he is either gay or strange, and he stopped having sex or even holding her hand after a month, but I saw all the interviews on the red carpet and morning shows for months, and he would bring up ad nauseum how he had never been this passionate, how he was always on top of her, no joke he said that. She always looked embarrassed. He's a fake who was using her for his public image as he was trying to be an actor. She is very young 22, and I can imagine moving to California, no car, while he is self-absorbed and giving her no affection until the red carpet would be messing with her mind. She said they gave them a trip to Hawaii after DWTS wrapped a month or two ago and he never once even kissed her but the minute on the beach he saw paparazzi taking photos he passionately kissed her. He is a fake. He even has a nice girl who gave an interview five months ago, whom he was dating, when he told her he was going on The Bachelor b/c he needed money and for his career but told her he loved her and even called her after proposing to Vienna saying he had to do it but it meant nothing. She gave an interview to call him out.

This interview tonight was a train wreck, but it was riveting. LOL I couldn't stop watching it.

I didn't like Vienna at the time either, but after seeing an interview his ex Tanya Douglas gave on Entertainment Tonight, I believe Vienna more than Jake and feel sorry for her! Now I think he chose the girl no one liked because he knew there would be less fallout when he dumped her and moved on. What a phony creep.

I haven't watched the Bachelorette, but I saw where it was going to be this big outing of him. So I watched it. When she called him out, he ran away like a little bitch. LOL

LOL, the funniest part of that clip is when he walks off (cameras chasing him) saying "I've got my passport and my wallet, that's all I need." Reminded me of Steve Martin in The Jerk.

I believe a good portion of what she said was probably true, but she's still histrionic and it hurts her credibility. I think he came off as an opportunistic manipulator using her own hysteria against her. He knew how to push her buttons and let her make herself look crazy because he had nothing substantive to say at all.

If she'd read "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus", she'd know right away that you don't pull out a GPS after your man gives you simple directions. Nor do you whip out your tape measure after he's "precisely measured" the entire bedroom. In Jake's particular case, both of these things were unpardonable high sins against his ego and apparently sent him into a rage.

I saw your after, too. I've looked at all the blogs on sites like People, US Magazine, etc, and so far most are seeing through Jake's condescending attitude. I thought Vienna being overly emotional and interrupting would hurt her, but people thought at least she was genuinely hurt and torn up about this relationship; whereas, he looked emotionless and smug. I think he's gay anyway. But he will be one of those gays who will go back to Texas, marry and have some kids. His "acting" career will go nowhere.

She got him pretty good! He sucked anyway. I remember the first show he started spouting off about "Jabronis" and I could tell his act was nothing original at all.

Ali though, maybe she is sweet and cool. It's just that she just reminds me of a sorority girl that's 85% tanning bed and hair bleach, and take those things away and she's probably pretty average looking. I wish them all well on their "amazing journey" though! God, if I never hear that word again outside of the band it'll be too soon.

I didn't watch the interview, but I may catch it on YouTube. "In character" for a reality show? What a dipstick! There are a lot of those in Hollywood, but usually we find that out after they have won the Academy Award and let their guard down!

Well, she said she never even held a tape measure, but was suggesting another way. When she kept interrupting, I thought, oh, no, you're playing right into his hands for him to gain some needed sympathy from viewers, since he didn't have much. But I have to give her a pass. She's 22 and doesn't have the emotional tools to know how to argue with someone like him. But it didn't help her to keep doing that.

Yeah, that guy does seem to have a lot of controlled rage. Wait until it explodes one day.

Emotionally and physically distant at home day in and day out is emotional abuse, as far as I'm concerned, and you can't figure out what you're doing wrong. To give her excuses for five months and for her to live like that trying to figure it all out away from home would be hard.

She said all she wanted was even to be held at night, and nada. I love the Valentine's Day Story where she had rose petals going all the way to the bathtub where she was in there naked. And she kept telling him to come in and he wouldn't. She finally gets out humiliated and he said he didn't feel like it. She also had rose petals all over the bed and he just brushed them off and got in bed and rolled over and went to sleep. Nice Valentine's Day for her.

You're right -- she was playing into his hands. I do think she was being genuine, and that she was honestly hurt. But her hysterics take away some credibility because when people get that emotional, they tend to exaggerate and can't see their own part in anything. Did she sell her story to the tabloid right before or after they split? I wasn't clear on that.

Right or wrong, he did have a point about how if she hated L.A. so bad, why did she just accept a marketing job there? I know that one's a tightrope, but still.

She sold it. But I don't blame her. He immediately gave his story afterwards and sold it. Both have been on interview shows since. She has never been liked as the one he picked, and I believe she needed to get her story out there that she really did try in the relationship b/f he came on with his smooth facade he has. If she didn't sell hers but gave it somewhere free, he would still have sold his to People like he did.

Well, as much as I find it entertaining brain candy after a long day at work, I still stay if you go on tv actually looking for love, ya get what you deserve.......hellllooooo!
