While other artists are cultivating YouTube channels, MySpace fan pages, and Twitter accounts, Prince believes the web is over.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror, Prince, who will be releasing his upcoming album 20TEN exclusively in CD format in the Mirror, stated, "The Internet's completely over."
"I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else," Prince explained. "They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it."
"I really believe in finding new ways to distribute my music," Prince said of his plan to offer his new album for free in the Mirror. 20TEN will not be available for download, and Prince has prohibited iTunes and YouTube from hosting his music. He's also shuttering his website.
"The Internet’s like MTV,” Prince told the Mirror. “At one time, MTV was hip, and suddenly it became outdated.”
He added, "Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."
Do you think Prince is right? Is the Internet "completely over?"

F Prince....I always wondered how amusing it would have been to have had a bee-bee gun at one of his concerts and took pot shots at his arrogant ass the entire show...

Has more musical ability in his fingernail than half the bands bandied about here....a genius. You may not like his style, but you can't argue the talent.

Don't sweat it! I'm sure we've all done it before.

He borders on Genius or horrible.
Listen to his Crystal Ball album. Horrendous.
Listen to his Batman album. Very cool.
He's a great guitarist but probably the most inconsistent artist I've ever seen. Too bad. Used to be a huge Prince fan. Quit buying his stuff after "The Vault".

I quit buying his stuff after 'The Gold Experience'....you can't touch the 'Controversy-Gold Experience' era....

So it says his new CD will be free. Does that mean he will giving it away at his next concerts?

Not free. For some it will cost the price of a newspaper or magazine. For the Stateside release, it will probably be a regular release on CD, priced as such.
Prince has a new album nearing completion, which will be released July 22 in the US and July 10 in the UK. The 10-song collection, 20Ten, will be dispersed throughout in the UK via daily newspapers and magazines, with issues of England's Daily Mirror, Scotland's Daily Record, and Belgium's Het Nieuwwsblad, and Germany's copies of Rolling Stone all including his new CD. In the US, it's expected Prince will release the disc traditionally through a label.

Guess thats one way to get double platinum, by including it with $2 newspapers

Schon thought of this long time ago, however he couldnt talk USA TODAY to charge $13.95 for a Sunday issue including Revelation

Yeah, Prince was one of my all time favorites in the early 80's. Lady Cab Driver......
