.....weekend! Took in two EMB shows this weekend and some great sites in San Francisco and surrounding Bay area! What a beautiful area. Friday was a great show in Marinwood Park, got there early, threw our blankets down in a primo spot, grab a beverage and just chillaxed for a great night of music. Was a lot of fun and he had a great turn out, the whole hillside was full and some of his rock friends showed up. Weather was great except for maybe the wind picking up by the end of the night. What a super nice guy, funny too.....signed my sig pic '3's company!' Eric also had an extra guitarist this year, one of his twin boys would randomly walk the stage playing his smaller version guitar, waving at the little girls down front and the cameras. Too cute, gonna be a rockstar like his dad! Then we strolled through town after, walking past old clubs that Eric, Neal, and other bay area musicians would get together and jam on weekends, years and years ago. Lots of music history in the bay area! Love it!

Saturday we went and took in a Rock Poster/Designs show in Golden Gate park, that was cool! One of the displays was Stanley Mouse, the guy who did the Journey album covers. Some pretty cool rock posters and album cover designs there! Then later into Santa Rosa for another EMB show. Great show, except for maybe one technical wiring issue that the place screwed up. Otherwise another great set from EM! And one thing I will definitely be doing when I get home is buying another damn camera. Missed a great kodak moment cuz of my stupidass old Canon camera, CP was taking a picture of EM giving me a kiss on the cheek but by the time the delay on my camera took it, I was already turned, laughing at something. Arggg! I've missed some great concert shots over the last few years that way too.

Then Fishermen's Wharf on Sunday, and flight home...........waaaaaaay too much to see in the Bay area to try to pack in in 3 days! Cindi and Bill got some great pictures, and Cyndy and Lora you ladies rock bigtime!

Will definitely have to come back if even just to get a "full" picture of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Looks like you ladies had a blast! Thank you for sharing your story. I love the picture of you guys nestled on the ground. Copping a Squat as they say! LOL! Did I spy with my little eye Lora and Cyndy? You ladies look so great! Sounds like a wonderful time.

I would have loved to see the Stanley Mouse display. Sigh.

Haha! You may have come up in conversation though, especially when we passed the "bushman" part of Fishermen's Wharf.

And thanks Ginger, I especially enjoyed Friday's show. Kicked back on blankets, in lawnchairs, food and booze available......and just a great night of music! He played lots of his solo stuff with some Mr Big songs thrown in there. Who needs lighting and arenas? I had a blast!!!

seeing bill's amazing photos makes me want to start lugging my slr around again. you just can't get that wonderfully narrow depth of field with point & shoots.

Had to laugh at my daughter's comment of the pic in the park........she said "see Cyndy's hand?, see your hand?........the peace sign went out in the 70s, Mom!" Hahaha, guess I'm just too cool for her.

i went all fangirly at flatstock by the bay & got stanley mouse's autograph. back in the early days of journey, i was a fan of the art as much as i was a fan of the music.



seems like his vision isn't as sharp & his hands are a little shaky, but he still took the time to personalize the autograph in my book. he drew the upper part in the image live. bottom image is printed in the book.

And was hoping to hear early EMB song Don't Stop, but no such luck. LOL, at the Saturday show I was right in front of his mic and his setlist was like a foot in front of me.......haha, was tempted to pull out a pen and add Don't Stop at the bottom.

Too funny, that's one of Bill's camera cases! Pretty much surrounded by black camera cases, purses, etc. But you're not far off on the.....straight from the airport. My flight into SF was delayed 1 1/2 hours due to fog. So we drove straight to San Rafael, checked in, met for a late lunch and off to the park.
