Wow! That's too bad!! Sounds like crappy politics at play! That downtown was SO dead, I can't imagine how that place didn't help them. And their casino sucks. Good luck to them! It is a cute town though!

You didn't mind the casino when you were winning $170, or when B and I were trying to track down the elusive Asian Pirate....  :P

Oh, I was happy to win  but I was scared to do any other gambling. The lowest machines they had were $1 and the cheapest blackjack I think was $20 a hand? And it was so tiny. The best thing there was the burger place!!

Wow that sucks, I liked that place for MRF2! And yes that area was neat to walk around, neat buildings, sad it was so dead.

Loved the burger place in the casino! And loved Behshad's entertainment when we were all there too

Hey Drew..

It's never too early to discuss MRIII...why don't you start a poll with some areas to hold it, and start drumming up support? If those who are interested in attending it (if you indeed have one) would start a grass-roots campaign, a street team, if you will, things could work out better than before...as far as attendance. Make flyers and pass them out for an entire year....really pump this bitch up...play with the format, take everyone's constructive comments from II, and tweak the event....I think a third could be really epic if you allow folks to help with all aspects... :)

Speaking of which, why does it always have to be north?!?
Is there a problem w/the southern states ...or the center, somewhere?!?! :?

I won't speak to what it's like in the south MG, but I think the following for AOR/MR is HUGE here in the Northeast/Midwest. I nominate Cleveland, and not just for personal bias. It's a dirt-cheap place to fly into, cheap(er) to stay at than most bigger cities, no traffic headaches, and plenty of great venues to try and do this thing up at. Most importantly, there is a fantastic AOR/80s community here... even the crappy bar bands playin that type of music draw HUGE.

Well it is too early for Drew, simply cause he lost money on the whole deal. If there ever will be an MRF III we need HUGE support from all (active) members around here. We need to have at least 100 people from HERE comitting to supporting the event, otherwise its just another great (financial) loss for Drew.....

To me, Cleveland is the same as Illinois...now I umderstand logistics, as far finances for lodging, fights, surroundings...etc....but the fans/ members in the Midwest have already had 2 MRs, and 3 Breast Cancer events, including this year's JTTC...how about spreading things around? It ain't cheap for us outsiders to fly... :?

He'll never have it in FL, so I'm all for the Midwest. It's cheaper, and it's central for ALL travelers. It's not easy for those out west to fly all the way to the east coast. And did I mention cost?

Austin Austin Austin

Has a thriving music scene & folks that are used to handling festivals such as SXSW & Austin City Limits.

And you can get around without freakin' toll roads.

This place would be perfect:

That would be a great location too! Someplace central I think should be the way to go, on either coast would be too much for folks on the opposite coasts. Like CA is always mentioned, but sorry, that's too far for east coasters, and too expensive, and CA gets everything already! lol

Not without any kind of headliner and you just can't book these guys 18 months in advance.

Indeed. MORE people came to MRF1 and I thought that was under-attended. Not sure I can ever do it again...
