The ROADHouse closed their doors yesterday!

My wife was reading the Elgin daily paper today and informed me they shut their doors yesterday. Too bad. It was a nice venue and a hell of a site for MRF2.
40 years from now, us MRF2ers will be talking about that place like people now talk about the location of the first Woodstock festival.

Damn...I didn't see this thread already started! I thought by being a resident of Elgin, IL, I had breaking news before it spread across the globe. Guess not.

That sucks! Great place! I guess after MR Fest II, there was nowhere left to go but downhill from there.

Yes, I thought the place was great!. The food, waitresses overall atmosphere was all awesome.
I was hoping maybe to go back there again, i guess not now.
I am heading back to Chicago land for Dream Theater/ Iron Maiden this weekend in Tinley Park.
Cant wait.

Enjoy your show! I have Robert Plant tomorrow, and Warrant this weekend with Mr Fest II's own Bombay Black opening. BTW, I finally listened to their new CD this weekend for the first time and was incredibly impressed. Every single song on the disc was excellent -- highly recommended.

The place was great in every aspect except for the food.
Half the stuff on the menu wasn't "available". Very slow service when it came to food. The beer service was top notch. But I recall Eric Ragno waiting 45 minutes for a dozen of fried shrimps. Nevertheless , the venue was great and it's a shame it's closed down.
House Of Blues in Cleveland would be a perfect choice for MRF III !
