'Battleship' to start filming in October
It's official: Battleship, the movie adaptation of the classic family game, will start filming at Celtic Studios Oct. 14. While Hollywood trade publications had reported the movie would be shot in Baton Rouge, and e-mail addresses were set up for people who wanted to work on the movie, Louisiana Entertainment didn't release details until Tuesday. Local filming is expected to go on until the end of the year. Battleship will reportedly deal with an international force uniting to fight an alien naval armada. The movie will be directed by Peter Berg, who made Hancock and Friday Night Lights. Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood and Taylor Kitsch from the Friday Night Lights TV series, will star as brothers who are Navy officers. Battleship is set for release May 18, 2012
