U2 have been the world's biggest-selling band over the past 12 months, raking in $130m, according to the website Forbes.com.

The Irish group have been staging their global 360 tour in support of their album No Line on the Horizon.

They claim the title despite singer Bono's bad back forcing them to cancel a Glastonbury festival appearance.

Rockers AC/DC were in second place with $114m followed by Beyonce Knowles on $87m.

Bruce Springsteen was fourth on the list with $70m.

Despite a difficult recent history, singer Britney Spears was in fifth place with $64m while Knowles's husband Jay-Z was in sixth place with $63m.

One of the few relatively youthful acts on the list was Lady Gaga, who has amassed $62m in the year to date, according to the website.

The singer has been performing the Monster Ball tour around the world.

Madonna demonstrated that she remains a major player in the music industry by coming in at eighth place, while the British band Coldplay finished in joint 10th alongside the Black Eyed Peas.

Gunbot, this is a bit misleading. This is from the past twelve months from right now. Some of the bands have been off for 10 months of the year, and their numbers show a diminished overall tour income.

Surprised not to see Bon Jovi. Thought they were ahead of ACDC and Springsteen. Guess not.

Bon Jovi will most likely end up on next year's list. Forbes runs the money list for musicians from June to June so it's still 12 months. Anyway, somebody's gonna be missing no matter what month you start from.

Billboard runs their list from November to November so that list will probably be a bit different.

The reviews here for Wednesday's BJ show were really good. And friends that were there said it was excellent, one of the best BJ shows they've seen. When the papers went on and on about how bang on JBJ's vocals were.............can't say the word "lipping" didn't cross my mind for just a second. The show I saw two years ago was really good too, but Jon wasn't hitting anywhere near any of the highs....especially on songs like Runaway, which didn't bother me any, as I don't usually give a rats ass about range.

Oh they're lippin Deb. I would take it to court.

We should petition Webster's and see if we can get "lippin" entered as an official word.
