Critically acclaimed Singer/Songwriter Grayson Hugh seeks band to play his music live for club dates and for possible touring. Style of music is mostly soul, with some rock and roots country. No jazzers or jammers. The songs are very tightly arranged by the artist. Looking for: 1) Drummer that plays the beat - and only the beat! 2) Lead Guitar 3) Bass Guitar 4) Backup synth player 5) Utility player: Mandolin/Banjo/Rhythm Guitar - Accordion skills a real plus! (One or more of these musicians needs to be able to sing backup vocals - looking for male voice.)
We are looking for serious committed musicians who want to play some real songs by a real songwriter!

That was "the thing" about him....people thought he sounded like an edgy cross between Sam C. AND Steve P.

I wrote:Well, I didn't see anything about a Female Backup Singer, so I emailed and asked....it can't hurt...

.....and - they answered.

I really didn't expect ANY type of response, but here's what they had to say:

Dear Nora,

Thank you for your inquiry.
Mr. Hugh already has a female backup singer and is not in need of another.

sincerely,
The Grayson Hugh Team

Oh well.....nothing ventured; nothing gained.... 8)

Agreed, his tone has a nice rasp to it, soulful, but not quiet the delivery of Perry or Cooke.

Keep pushing, Nora. That band ain't the only one's out there looking! And the way they worded the rejection was stupid, Should have read; "Mr. Hugh already has a female backup singer, but thank you for your inquiry." Good luck, my dear! L
