Out of town and back

Up late, can't sleep. Been busy and on FB networking, etc. Hope all is well with everyone.
Well, just back from NYC to do some business and have a bit of pleasure! The weather in NYC is just what my mother warned me about...extreme! In this case it was hot, humid, hot, humid, hot, and humid and hot! Showered a lot much to the amusement of my friend Colman, Philly native and actor/director whom I have known about 19 yrs and stayed with. Have to sign in and out with security in his high rise of about 800 people, & guests can only stay no more than 2 wks!
Arrived at JFK, but I drove into Mid-Town Manhattan with a Spanish guy named Victor, an independent cabbie. I told him if he tried anything I might have to slice his neck. I don't mind helping out independent drivers trying to "hold it down" and make a buck, but ya know it can be scary. BTW, it was an $8 toll just to get into Manhattan, $8!! NYC is expensive as hell!! And smelly, fast paced, and crowded! People jay walk like crazy with cops present! But, I like that they are blunt and straight forward, you know where you stand with them. And they were friendly especially when I told them, "My mom is Manhattan-born and South Bronx raised!" Did not need to tell them my business, but I figured it would not hurt.
Went to the Hudson River, saw New Jersey from across the river. Speaking of NJ I saw three orange women! Three Guidettes, if I can say that without insulting Italian people! They were Orange! Really, REALLY tanned just like on tee vee! And they had big dark poofed hair! Would not have been cool to take their pix so I did not, but I saw them! Never before saw people like that in the Bay Area! Saw them by Roc Center.
So, okay was only in NY for a few days, and walked most of the time in extreme heat which is why I showered 3 times a day and lost about 10 lbs which my pix do not reflect, sadly.
(okay 4 lbs). Saw Madison Square Garden, Central Park - well some of it, and Times Square. Wow! So many people!
Went to dinner at a Thai restaurant where I ordered Grilled Ginger Honey Pork Chops - 3 or 4 pork chops! Way too much food, but very well cooked, and I usually do not eat pork chops!
Saw lots of cute guys which was refreshing, there are so few men in SF who are not attached at the hip to other guys.
Colman, my friend who currently is finished playing Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago, was great in that show! I actually saw a Broadway show on Broadway and someone I know was in it!! Very exciting for this old playwright!
Saw a drag show with a drag queen named Shequida. She was a sour-tongued diva who invited some of us on stage, but ended up cussing most of us out' cause we weren't as 'fierce" as she was! I got the brunt of her rage - well, she was also VERY drunk! I am not one of those blacks who dances and sings with soul and that pissed her off when we had to perform. She's a fellow Jamaican, so I forgive her. I introduced myself to the bitch after the show, but she barely remembered me. I said, "Hi, I'm the lady whom you told to 'get your no-dancing, no-singing ass off this stage you're a disgrace to black folks...!'" Many of you probably do not get "gay" or "drag" humor, I am working on it, but she did not offend me, hell she made me laugh. And I think I held my own, plus with the heat I did not feel like drinking so I saw that 6-inch heels wearing boy/girl heffa in a whole different light...a whole DRUNKEN light! tee!
Okay, so I have bored you all beyond recognition with my tales. Most of my pix are on FB and there's an upcoming video which will be funny as hell...well, to me at least.
Have a great week, be back online soon! MBPL
