It's time to give back," bassist Gene Simmons explains to Billboard.com, adding that KISS -- which is also donating $1 per ticket to the Wounded Warrior foundation -- hopes to show the youths "that there's another world out there besides Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. It's important for them to see how the big boys do it

aahaaahaaaaa!!!
Gotta Love Kiss!!

"There's no tapes. There's no background singers backstage. There's no click tracks. It's important for the kids to see that whatever you see on stage is real. We want to spread this. I'm insulted by any act that goes up there with dancers and tapes. It's insulting."

Why am I thinking that KISS has used BGV tapes and has used a click track somewhere in their past?

"We still have a tug of the heart...Peter and Ace [Frehley] are beloved, as well they should be for the beginning, for helping launch the band. But it's important to note that with them in the band today, KISS wouldn't be around."

What's he saying here? I understand the issues with Ace but is he implying that Peter was some kind of cancer to the group?

I'm sure he's referring to his severe drug abuse ... :?

Yes, I guess you are right. I've never thought of Peter as a really creative influence at all in the band, so I didn't think beyond his drug use, how he could do anything to implode the band or even go the opposite way and give it greater acclaim. He was always like Ringo Starr or Ross Valory in my mind, just a nondescript cog in the machine.

Actually Beth was originally "Beck" (an unfinished project from Peter's time in the band Chelsea and referred to his band mate's wife Becky, not his own) who used to call every 15 minutes asking when her hubby would be coming home. Peter did help with the melody though as you said and the song was reborn again with KISS as Beth.

Yep, and they were originally going to shorten
Becky to Beck, but they didn't want anyone to think they were singing about Jeff Beck,
so they changed it to Beth!!

*you edited*

I don't have a problem with the click tracks myself but I agree with the rest.

First off, Gene is completely full of shit. However, let's assume that he is being honest. You think Gene is a big fan of Augeri era Journey? LOL, I saw him at the Greek in LA loving the Generations show.....little did Gene know...Oops.

I think Paul Stanley stands head and shoulders over all the other members of Kiss past or present. Certainly in terms of musical talent .

Love 'em or hate 'em, you have to respect them for going at it this damn long and still making a fortune doing it. Not too many bands that can claim that

Took my son to see KISS in 2004 when he was 11...he loved it! I saw LOTS of younger kids there too...most of them in makeup. Paul even gave a little speech about "I see all you little kids out there...we love you! We were here for your parents, we were here for your grandparents, and we'll be here for YOU too!!"

It was kinda cool...

Did you know the tune before this?

I remember being a real little kid watching the 92 All Starr Band VHS tape with my dad in our family room on our brand new home theater system and lovin this tune.

Yes, but only because my mom has Time Takes Time and I've awakened to it a few
times when visiting ...I was not a little kid  I like it, other than that ...NO!!

Kiss has been a big supporter of our troops for quite some time now.

This here is a clip from 2004. Even if you don't wanna sit here and watch the whole video, at least listen
to Paul's speech before the song.

Skip ahead to the 1:54 mark to get right to it.
