I have completely done a 180 on this album. At first, only liked specific songs, but not the album as a whole But now I really, really love the whole album. I find it stunning. It's definitely a grower.

What say you U2 owners of this album now that you've had it for a while?

Fantastic songs below I love. Some of their best, to me.

Great raw energy - No Line On the Horizon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TXapiEq ... re=related

Magnificent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHt4LaBF ... re=related

I consider this one of their absolute BEST SONGS off ANY album: Moment of Surrender: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoTNr6pM ... re=related

White as Snow (About a soldier's thoughts as he lay dying in Afghanistan)/ Pure poetry to me.

Sorry Jana, I am a fan but this cd does nothing for me. Just doesn't go anywhere. They'll go back in the familiar U2 direction next time out, I would presume.

Well, Breathe is reminiscent of early U2. Great energy. Awesome song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3itFCZ6 ... re=related

You're not alone. Many fans find it lackluster or the other group love it, like me. Kind of no middle ground on this album.

I've tried to give it a chance at least 3 times, and it has yet to catch on with me. Maybe I'll try once more.

I loved this cd from the very begining. I love all the songs you mentioned, and love Fez Being Born. The only song I could do without is Cedars of Lebanon. I also love the dvd 360 tour, except I am mad cause they put the opening song Breathe as a bonus trac.

By the way Jana, have you heard the song Winter by U2 on the movie Brothers soundtrac? Bono said that song is the other half of White as Snow in an interview I read. Check it out, am sure you will enjoy that one too.

Sorry to say, but the last time Bono made any real impact was when he hurt his back a few months ago.

Not a U2 fan. Bono's voice does nada for me. Although I did like some of their early stuff like Where The Streets Have No Name.

I did. There's the movie version and their album version. From what I've read, they are putting out this year a follow-up album to NLOTH, Songs of Ascent, that many of the songs were already recorded at the same time and this song will be on it. It's beautiful. I've never heard any more about Songs of Ascent and don't know what the status is. But I don't know if that album under any name will see the light of day this year. I haven't followed it closely to know.

This is what I read first of the year:

"Songs of Ascent" (Island/Interscope/IGA)
Release Date: tentatively June 2010

Manager Paul McGuinnes told the Irish Independent that "Bono is always an optimist, but he seems confident of getting a new record out by the end of the next six months."

As for the sunglasses-clad frontman, he told the paper, "We are working away and we have a couple of yearlings in the stables that could really turn out to be thoroughbreds in the future. As a band you are always trying to work on new material and we had some unfinished material from the last album."

There have also been reports of the band spending time in the studio in New York and France. As far as tracks go, the Edge told Rolling Stone that "Kingdom of Your Love"-the U2 360 tour intro song-is a "potential 'Songs of Ascent' track." Bono also described the album as "an intimate affair."

I don't understand why the title track, No Line On The Horizon, wasn't their first single, instead of Get On Your Boots. It doesn't make sense. This song is fantastic and they rock it out in concert. Bono's vocals are fierce on this song, even live:

Give me an effin break! Best band out there today? Not even close...your favorite band? Probably. U2 shot their wads in the 90s...the typical college radio band that Rolling Stone loves to beat off to....best band? You wish....

Don't have to wish, they are the best band. nuff said. And I am not going to get into a childish argument like you want to do...so drop it.

I seriously think they fall just short of the E Street Band both musically and live. Having said that, they are tremendous live and have a huge following for a reason. It cracks me up to see S2M and Andrew not like this band, yet suck the skin off shit bands limp cocks. There is a reason band sthey hate, U2, Springsteen and Bon Jovi are the biggest in the world, and bands like Trixter, Winger and bands like those play bars.

Just for once guys, pull your heads outta your asses.

Achtung Baby downhill? I don't think so. Amazing album. They did some really good albums after Joshua Tree from late 80s all the way into this decade. If they hadn't, they wouldn't be the mega band they are now. They would be an 80s band playingearly to mid 80s music. That's not the case.

You know what Chet? Difference between you and I is I don't claim that my bands are better, or best...I just put my music out there hoping others try them out....if you pulled your lips off Bruce's Johnson long enough to form a coherent thought - you'd realize that....

Another difference...my bands aren't trying to be anything other than what they are....You mention Jovi? Topping the AC charts must be exciting. I don't know what is more exciting to me...U-571, or Jon on the AC charts....

Selling out football stadiums is for shitty college bands, while playing Snooky's bar and grill is for superior, more deftly tlented groups.

Oh stop with the Bruce jealousy. Until you have a front man and singer/songwriter to come knock him off the mountain, stfu. I call it like I see it. They are the best band in the world, and U2, is right there too. It says something when an older act plays to sold out shows every night, to enormous crowds, and plays new music, rather than dirty dozen stuff nightly. That means they are relevant and still mean something to throngs of fans. Don't hate me for their popularity.
