Didn't see this on here but, in case anyone cares, there's a possible train wreck happening in Minnesota on Nov.12th. Great White is scheduled to play in Medina Mn. As you may or may not know Jani Lane has agreed to step in for Jack Russell for the rest of GR's shows this year..............The opening act that night.....Warrant with Robert Mason....this may end bad.

Wow! I'd love to see Jani Lane sing, but I didn't even realize he was out of jail yet. I had planned on seeing them in Fort Smith a few weeks ago, but skipped it not knowing if Jack would make it. Turns out he didn't, and Terry Illous filled in again. They are saying the band is scheduled to come back for a free make-up gig in October. Hmm...

I thought it was probably his back surgery issues, but now there's something else... dang, he's falling apart!

Melissa Kucirek, a publicist for Great White, stated in an e-mail that Russell suffered a "perforated bowel and underwent major surgery." Russell's doctors expect him to make a recovery in six or eight weeks, she said.

let's hope you don't perf your bowel....it's not a "fun" surgery.

This should be interesting, if nothing more than the guy who should be singing the Warrant tunes is singing GW instead. My limited understanding is that there is no issue between the band and Jani other than Jani can't control himself from a substance abuse standpoint when he's out on tour with them.

Maybe...but didn't Jani or the band have some not so kind comments about each other after this last episode?

I think the band was pissed because Jani couldn't stay sober long enough to put on the show and sang like crap live because of it. There are a number of less than gratifying youtube videos out there or a trashed Jani trying to sing, and doing rather unsuccessfully.

Right but didn't both of them pop off in the media about the whole thing....Warrant talking about him being drunk and ruining it for the fans etc......and Jani doing the same by blaming them and do the spin control thing.....

Axe, you could be right. I honestly didn't see it, but can't say I was that dialed into what was going on.

Both sides are fine with each other - there shouldn't be any train wreck...
