I know, I know, I'm not that crazy about the CD either, but it's definitely an achievement for a classic rock group to debut on Billboard, especially as high as number 10.
That hasn't happened for them since BRIGADE.

It's "ok".
2 songs on it suck. The rest are decent.
I guess those package tours do sell some CDs...
Good for them.

I listened to it again yesterday. It's growing on me.
Initially, I thought it sucked hard, but it's not that bad......depends on the mood.

"HEY YOU" and "SAFFRONIA'S MARK" are the only two I absolutely can't listen to. The rest are okay. The title track, "RED VELVET CAR", is awesome.

if you're looking for Heart's GH's sound of the 80's, then yeah, it sucks.
That's not what this is...and I don't think that's where they are any longer musicaly, or really should have went back then.
I think it's a good CD...not the best thing ever...but good.

Not since '95.

I would still pay to see a live show. They still bring it!

Well, personally, I would rather hear more of the 70's Heart then the 80's Heart. A case where their "Greatest Hits" are good but not my favorites.

Heart has evolved. The new CD is selling like crazy and I'm definitely proud of Ann and Nancy Wilson who seem to be able to remain current and still be true to what "Heart" is.
Three of the best songs from the RED VELVET CAR recording sessions aren't on the American release, "In The Cool", "Closer To The Sun" and "Bootful Of Beer". If you can find those songs, get 'em, they make the album much better.

Heart has ALWAYS leaned to acoustic stuff. From the very first album. "Little Queen" (their second album) had mandolins all over it and acoustic stuff as well. They were certainly more that style than "Alone", "What About Love", etc. That was era (though I also liked that a lot) was so much "Marketing Spin".
"Sand" is an awesome song, especially if you've lost someone close to you. That's been released before on Ann and Nancy's LoveMongers album. Great lyrics in that one.

Ann Wilson is the greatest singer I've ever seen live ... 1994 Steve Perry included.

I gotta agree there. I saw Heart twice last year. It's nice to see people shed the shallowness of being concerned with
gossip about her weight and respecting her as the great singer she is.

A-Men! And the most consistently good.
I saw Air Supply at the height of their fame and Russell Hitchcock's voice was as high and clear as any record they had ever made and the band, with two lead guitars, two keyboard players and an amazing drummer, was hot. I think people would be surprised at just how rockin' an Air Supply show is. They recently had huge success with a new album, a concept album called MUMBO JUMBO, that has two songs that have charted pretty high. Russell's voice has worn out some, but he still manages to sing the hits and the new stuff. The band rocks more and more as they get older.

Dennis is and always was great. However, he does not compare to either Ann or Perry in his prime. I'm a huge Styx fan, btw.

He pimp-walked out during a Night Ranger show at the HOB in Chicago about a decade ago and blew the house down. Dude can sing with just about anyone, but no one has power like Ann.

I have only heard 3 songs from it and I like 2. I am seeing them in concert on the 25th and taking my daughters with me since they actually like my style of music.

Many people say the same about Journey, but we don't let 'em get us down.

The 85 and 87 albums, though targets for "sellout!" purists n the Genesis/Gabriel vein, are the most accessible tracks aside from Even It Up and Straight On from the old era.

After finishing the CD in it's entirety, I have to admit to feeling disappointed by it. I mean the ladies sound great but lyrically, the songs are just not very impressive. I did like the title track though...so maybe other songs have potential to "grow" on me upon 2nd or 3rd listen. We'll see

I had it playing in my boom box while I was doing some work in the garage and shed today. I was actually rocking to it and I realized that I like it, but it's not to be compared to their stuff in the mid 80's and 90's. Maybe that's it. It kind of takes me back to the 70's. ????? I dunno. I'm not gonna throw it away.

Good way to put it...I totally agree. Surely not bad enough to throw away - caught somewhere between trash and treasure
