What happened today?

No disrespect to Andrew, but Jim's threads were about the only thing left keeping the board alive lately. I really don't think any of us mind any of them. I'm kind of confused

I didn't mind them - the board has been pretty quiet lately and his threads are a lot more relevant than the ones where guys post pictures of women they want to do. Every Christmas since I've been posting, Jim has organized everyone behind the scenes to send a Christmas donation to keep the board running - he's a positive asset to MR, so I hope he changes his mind and stays!

I've got nothing against Jimbo, but I find these 'Goodbye' threads a bit self-serving. Kind of a 'Let's see how popular I am here, and see who begs me to stay'....Being a member of numerous boards over the years I've seen more than my share of these threads....and a good 99% of the posters who write them - end up staying....

Lot of guys love the drama or get caught up in it.... then they have a hard time, when it doesnt go well... and deicide they dont want to deal with it anymore...then burn bridges or lose friends over whatever it is that is happening... He's not going anywhere, he loves us... well most of us I guess... I still don't know who it is that's been invited to kiss his ass.

I could (but won't) name someone around this place who bitched to me I don't even KNOW how many times about being "done" with this place, and guess what - never happened. Just a bunch of empty whining over dopey arguments (not that I am saying that's what Jim is doing - obviously whatever happened ticked him off enough... but I don't know what it was so I can't judge). Emotions run and we all get over it. I was done with this place at one or two points, too.

I haven't paid attention to whether more men or women start "bye" threads, but it is more women who come along with the "Well gee I was gone, and no one noticed?" And it's even funnier when they weren't here like maybe a week or two, tops

Yeah, i remember saying that. i dont know about anyone else, but when i said it, i was goofing on the fact that like 4 other people said it. Just being funny. Its fine if no one pays attention to that kind of thing. I dont always notice if people arent hanging around that much, either.

Sometimes shit just gets the better of us and we clock out for a while. None of you have ever said goodbye to family members for a week or two when you got pissed at them? Some people are more sensitive than others, and it's usually the artist type. I have no reason to condemn Jim, especially if he is hurting. I'm sure he will come back after he chills for a while.

This I agree with.

That said, I am not bothered or annoyed with Jim's threads. I think he's good people. This place has been a playground of neuroses and character flaws over the years (myself heavily included). Electronic socializing brings that out in people. But it's a great indicator and comfort to learn by it. As if humanity has safety in numbers. Misanthropes included.

We're all equals. (Not in reference to this board because of course it's Andrew's property and we are guests. But in reference to humanity as a whole.) Your right, your wrong... it's all just your reality based on your own experiences. And reality itself is an illusion. So is it necessary to chastise him with tongue-in-cheek comments psychoanalyzing him? Or anyone else and their behavior for that matter. Understanding and courtesy may not be the coolest thing to advocate on this board, but to hell with perception.

Jim, start 50 goodbye threads on 20 message boards if that's what makes you happy.
