Hammett's solo start at around the 5:40 mark.

i like how kirk can play both shreddingly fast solos & delicate soulful melodies really well - just like two of my other favorite guitarists, jeff beck & neal schon. i was at that show in nîmes. holy crap, it was good!

God, do you ever get around. I am jealous.

On a side note, we all know how good Schon is, but to me sometimes, when he shreds, he looses it a little bit...I think it gets sloppy sometimes. Not putting the guy down, that's just my take.

yeah, i kinda prefer neal's melodic stuff over the shredding.

Me too. Seems like he tries too hard sometimes. Hammett's solo in this link, in my opinion, is shredding done the right way.

He sure has the same sound as Neal.

Hammet is a joke compared to Neal technical skills-wise... the guy's vibrato is HORRENDOUS. But, he DOES fit his band like a glove just like Neal does... that's what the two of them have in cmmon.

Nice different take on the solo there from Kirk. I admit I have not followed Metallica that closely in recent years, but this is one of the few times I can recall Hammet playing a Les Paul. Love the Gibson sound.

I listened to it again, and that dude is something. Not sure why I didn't notice before, and I know this thread isn't about Hetfield, but that fucker is either being pitch corrected on a few occasions, or the video is screwy.

Either there really are crickets here today, or this would have caused a bigger stir in the journey forum maybe?

Too bad Frank Dux ended up being a liar and a fraud. I've read he even screwed Van Damme over.

Frank Dux was a fraud about what? He never really won a kumite?
