The Giants versus the Rangers.

These were the first two teams that met when interleague play began. Now they face each other in the World Series.

Rangers win because Cliff Lee can pitch in three games.

Like Marty McFly, I wish I could take the DeLorean back in time and put $100 on a Giants-Rangers World Series in March.

Lee just looks unhittable in the playoffs and the Rangers can flat out hit. Not a great combination if you're a Giants fan. Rangers in 6.

I say Rangers in 5.

Looks like they out-play and out perform the Giants in ever area whether it be on the mound or in the box. Both would be good stories, but I think the hot hand right now would be the Rangers as the fav, esp the way Lee is playing. That dude is un-stoppable. You can't defend a good pass in the NFL, you can't score on a good goalie and you certainly can't hit off of a red hot pitcher so it'll be tough for the Giants to hit off Lee 3 games.

Ah, the good ol' days when Cliff Lee wasn't pitching well enough to even be on our playoff roster... oh, that was 2007 when we blew a 3-1 ALCS lead against Boston without him.

In spite of my usual sarcasm, I have a serious question Travis. How does anyone from Pittsburgh ever pay attention to anything baseball related? I know that Pittsburgh claims to have a "major league baseball" team but those of us who have seen the Pirates play know better.

LOL. So true. Pittsburgh is a 2 team town, and that's only bvecause the Penguins won the Cup, or it would be Steelers 24/7. Puke.

lifer Giants fan...not into predicting but considering that the Phils position guys...every ONE of them (except for Posey) are better than the Giants...and the Giants just closed them out in Philly means...don't count out San Francisco....

You can never count anyone out. That's why they play the games. The reality is there is NOBODY outside of Texas and California who thought the World Series wouldn't be the Phillies versus the Yankees. I don't think the "Cindarella" factor comes into play in this series because nobody expected either team to reach the World Series.

After a 49-year drought, even the relentlessly optimistic get a little jumpy ...

Proud to say I did call the Giants NL champs at beginning of year. I had Colorado winning the division and the Giants Wild Cards, witrh the Giants winning it. I can look it up if you really want me too.

Actually, Bengie Molina is responsible for the Giants reaching the WS. When he left SF, the Giants got Buster Posey, who is 50 times the player Fatso Bengie is.

Oh trust me my man, I can ASSURE you not ONE person in Pittsburgh claims we have a "major league baseball team." You might of seen the Pirates play, but you've never witness an entire season. It's really, really, really sad and I don't have any other words to describe the Pirates than that and it's even sadder that there's nothing that can be done.

Even though our baseball team can't beat little leaguers (and that's a fact) we still support here but for different reasons. I can get up to 10 FREE tickets daily when the Buccos play and everyone basically goes not to really put everything out on the line to cheer the Pirates, but enjoy a summer day with our families and just cheer for the Pirates win or lose and that's become the norm. I give credit to Pirates fans though, we are as loyal as possible and hold out optimism for the future and still have sell-outs in PNC most of the year, esp opening day but other than that, we know we aren't going anywhere so it turned into cheering for the loveable losers for the sake of loyalty. When we win, it's more of a shock of what's wrong and how did we win versus losing and anticipating it, haha.

I'm looking forward to this one because these are both teams that really have no business being in the Series, and I like both of them, and won't be pulling for one over the other. Each one will be a great story if they win.

Lifetime Giants fan. No way I can vote any other way. It is torture though. I have been through two WS losses in my lifetime with this team (one that even brought on an earthquake  :) ) It has been quite the season. Everytime I have counted this years team out, they seem to come through. With a little luck and error free play, they should be able to win it.

I'm calling the series for SF, because it's been a couple years, so it's just about that time for DSB to cycle back up and annoy the piss out of us again. SF will see that this happens.

where the Rangers are sitting....should be the Twins... but the Twins imploded against the Yankees... being an American league guy, have to say the Rangers... maybe in 5... they can pitch and hit... shutting down the Yankees is no easy feat... which they did in 6 games... and also I am sooo freaking tired of DSB...its another reason to cheer for the Rangers...

stern has been saying that forever (in reference to himself).

The Giants, especially if Perry gets to throw the first pitch. He is the only reason I took an interest in the team. Those players arn't your average looking baseball team. They all look mean and threatening. Their Sat. game reminded me of how tense and unpredictable a really good game is supposed to be.
