Talked to a mutual friend of Ross Muir's this weekend and looked up his site. This must be a recent interview, a pretty decent read:

Now I really love him! He's one of us! :D

KC: I am very proud of 'All For One'... probably because it truly is heartfelt for me.
I am unhappy with the socialistic avenue our current president is steering our great nation towards.

God is good and He gives me everything I need and in abundance at that. The answer to the world's success is just this: Don’t wait for someone else to do for you what you have the power to do for yourself, oh yeah and why you’re at it, help a brother out too. The old Indian verse goes like this “Lift as you climb!” People expect too much from others these days. Get the fire in your belly and do it for yourself and make the world a stronger place and keep the fires of freedom Burning Bright!

ahh very cool. The Storm's Eye of the Storm cd is still one of the highest ranked cds that I have as far as pure quality goes. His new cd is pretty good (mix the production from the first and the quality of songs from the second), and the guy still has a tremendous voice.

Due to the Chalfant/Rolie/Schon song Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid being included on the newest album, I would have thought there might have been a little discussion, but this cd seems to have slipped through the cracks. Interestingly enough, I really don't hear that much "Journey" on the song itself and no backing vox whatsoever, so I wonder how much it differs from the original demo.

Poor Kevin. First he tried the Christian music angle, and that didn't stick. Then he did the Journey covers album, hoping Neal would take a not-too-subtle hint. And now he's pandering to the Glenn Beck crowd. Who can blame him? Those dumb bastards will buy anything. Anyone wanna bet that this rugged individualist collected "socialist" unemployment after The Storm broke up?

PS Good read by the way. Kevin tackles the question of whether he was considered by the band after JSS.

I think he did the Christian and Christmas albums because he wanted to, and easy to knock out. They weren't really marketed to the melodic rock crowd. The Journey covers album simply came about as a way of minimal work, and some amount of money for selling it. With everyone begging him to record the songs, I'd be tempted to do the same thing.

Then, you can add the Shadows Fade (who comes up with these random names???) project album of covers, which again was limited requirement on his end.

The whole thing seems rather obvious to me. Way too much work and effort and very minimal sales to write a new album, and with cover cds, you can keep your name out there without having to do all that much. That said, nice to hear him back in form writing and recording again. Here's hoping it's not 10 years until the next new album.

At least he's working for a living and the funding he receives from the people/public is by choice of the people/public!!
I like his stance ...lift as you climb ...or get off yo ass!! :D
