Being ever the optimist, it's only 44 days 'til the days start getting longer...and there's some good holidays the next 2 months - you know, Columbus Day, etc. :P :P :P

Been there done that! Just be glad you aren't working tonight-that makes for a 13 hour shift. It seems I was ALWAYS scheduled for the "fall back" night and never the "spring ahead" night!!

I liked night shift better for lots of reasons but I do enjoy my sleep and I tend to sleep much better at night than I do in the day. I just hate the nights I'm up all night catching babies THEN have to be in the office all day the next day...the worst of both worlds....but it's all good cuz I LOVE it!

It's just as much of a pain for HI and AZ people though... the problem I found living in AZ was that people who don't live there never know what time it is there, and for some reason, half my family always thought we were ahead, not behind. I tried to explain it to people this way... half the year (April - October) AZ is on Pacific time and the other half (Nov-March) AZ is on Mountain time. I thought that would make it easier. Nope. 7 a.m. on a weekend the phone rings. Me: "What the hell?" Them: "I waited til 9 to call you so it would be 10 where you are..." Me: "It's SEVEN!"

I don't like this time of year, it's DARK dark by 6 p.m., and by the time 9 p.m. rolls around it feels like it should be midnight, lol.

Don't forget to change the batteries in smoke detectors too 8)

Oh, no my batteries get changed in each one all different times of the year...usually when the low battery annoying beep starts up at 3am! It's especially great when that happens in my bedroom with the high ceilings! Of course they pick the highest point to place that smoke detector!!

Oh I hate that too, it's ALWAYS at 2 or 3 a.m. too! :x  But I noticed it did stop happening as much if they actually got changed every 6 months  I have 7 of them and it IS a pain!

So, we'll start out in daylight with Gary Schutt next weekend, and it'll be dark by the time Rick Springfield finishes?

Weather forecast says 86 during the day and 60 at night.

What to wear ... :?:  :?:

I was hoping for 70's during the day since everything we enter that thing with, we have to carry all day. 81 will be warm and i wanted to wear a warmer kind of shirt. Oh well. Hopefully the humidity will be lower at least. Never know anyway! I think weather prediction here is always off!! That's a week away  hey, we could wear our thongs without jeans at 81

I guess layers will be the answer ... we can add and subtract accordingly ...

Chica Debbie ... you might want to rethink those biker boots at 80+ and a 2 p.m. start ...

This time of the year sucks...I HATE it being dark when I leave for work and dark either before or shortly after getting home.

Where the heck do you live that it's not dark until 6pm? Hell, it was darker much sooner that in Boston before we went fucking with the clocks. It was completely dark here before 4:30 today which means that the snow can't be far behind

LOL- down in central FL. Over the summers here it stays light out until at least 8 p.m, sometimes a bit longer. Then towards end of summer that scales back a bit, and so now having to fall back, it's dark by 6.

Completely dark by 430? Wow! :(

In the summers here in FL it's dark by 8:00 or 8:30, and not dark up north until about 10:00 or later! Maybe it's reversed in the winter? Or the north east is like living in alaska?

That's certainly no different than here in the summer. During the summer, it's definitely light out until 8 or a bit after. As for the winter, I believe our earliest sunset in Boston is the second week of December and I believe the sun sets at about 4:10 in the afternoon.

We have a whole lot of jackasses in the northeast, but I'm not sure anyone is close to the Sarah Palin stratosphere, so I would have to say that this place is NOTHING like Alaska

Well, I'm from Erie, PA, which is as far north as you can go before Canada, and it stays light there until about 10 in the summers! The far NE must be different!
