Already debunked BS. Contactmusic.com (aka the Weekly World News of cyberspace) are proven liars. The story says that Neal confirmed the allegation, but his provided quote says nothing of the sort. Journey is touring with a replacement singer because Perry won't or can't. Not sure why people don't get that after all this time.

Hey, at this point, I'd actually prefer to see Perry take the reigns back - diminished range and all. But I don't think the band or SP finds these rumors useful. Perry prolly keep a publicist on retainer specifically to shoot down BS Journey reunion stories.

Arnel provides the vocal range, but no one can touch Perry's passion, emotion, and ability with connect to people through his singing. That was the main reason Journey was so successful. Not to detract from Neal & Co., but if Journey would have been a hit without Perry, they never would have needed him.

Bon Jovi is still making hits because he has the same gift that Perry had. Without that element, Journey hasn't made hit records. The same goes for Foreigner without Lou Gramm, Styx without Dennis DeYoung, etc. Only a handful bands made hits after changing lead singers such as AC/DC and Van Halen. Journey wasn't one of them.

With the exception of Foreigner replacing Gramm with Johnny Edwards in the late 80s, all the other bands replaced their singers well after their type of music was in the mainstream. Big difference between them and AC/DC & Van Halen.
