While I'm not a fan of hearing songs that are tuned down, I understand why bands do it live to save the singer's pipes. With that said... I rarely LIKE what I'm hearing with the song tuned down. That was until tonight! Listen to Europe's "Heart Of Stone" that was recorded in 2004. This song kicks ASS, and the band sounds absolutely AMAZING!!! Damn I'd love to catch these guys live.

One of my favorite Europe tracks. And I agree, love this version from the "Start From The Dark" tour. (The live DVD is excellent.)

Tuning the song down fit it well. Killer solo from John Norum too.

I totally agree! John did a great job on it.

I would love to see them live too Jim. It seems like that is never going to happen! 2 more albums since the SFTD tour in the US, and they seem to only want to tour Europe. I'd travel to see them if they ever do make it back to the states!

In an interview with Abhijeet Ahluwalia for EspyRock on November 30, 2009, Joey Tempest outlined the future of Europe, announcing the follow up to Last Look at Eden will come in 2011. "We're gonna keep working at this rate we’re working at, which is pretty good. We’ll probably come out with an album in 2011 and tour in 2012 again. We’re looking 2-3 years ahead all the time, and in the next 5 years I see Europe with 2 more albums, 2 more world tours and hopefully having established ourselves even better in a lot of territories around the world."

Sounds like they'll be here maybe in 2012.

Wow! Really? That would be awesome!! I hope they can do it! They just need to pair up with another band, like Def Lep, and they'd do fine here! In a way, I rather they toured alone though, so they could have a bigger set list in a more intimate setting! I'm not sure they'd do well enough on their own though.

It still kinda bums me that more bands don't do at least one album every other year. Hell, back in the 60s and 70s, most bands put out at least one album EVERY year and sometimes two or three. It seems like in the 80s that bands just started doing one every other year, every three years, etc. Of course, Boston put out their first two albums two years apart in the 70s and then every eight years after that, with the exception of the "Greatest Hits" album.

Europe has been putting albums out every couple years! I think they are getting too old to physically do that every year like they did when they were at their peak. They have money and lives now in their older age,and I think we're lucky we get them every couple years with those that are still active!

UFO is a good example of a band that releases a new album every couple of years. 5 albums between 2000-2009
