Don't listen to S2M, he hasn't a clue as to what the fuck he is talking about.

We'll see this weekend huh? The Packers @ Falcons will tell us a lot. My pick for the NFC is New Orleans. They are in the catbird's seat, and no pressure on them at all. I also like Philly a lot, but if the Saints start to roll, and get home games in the Dome, forget it.

True, but the Dirty Birds went into the Superdome a month and a half ago and beat NO....I think the ATL is in their heads now.

For some reason I have a feeling the Super Bowl will be between any combination of these 4-5 teams:

Green Bay, Baltimore, N.Y Giants, or Pittsburgh with the kicker being San Diego.

I feel that even though the Jets have been a superb regular season team thus far, I feel they are very beatable and have peaked way too early and are due to be letdown in January. Teams like the Steelers & Ravens match up VERY well with the Jets if it came to a post-season matchup. Tom Brady looks to be in the mix of league MVP, but he hasn't thrown a pick in 6 games. One of these games down the stretch and a defense that could be exploited in the playoffs could open the door for teams like Indy or even San Diego to knock off New England late. Maybe even Baltimore since Baltimore plays N.E well in every matchup and they beat N.E last year in Foxboro as well.

I think teams like the Giants, Packers, Steelers & Ravens have room for improvement and understand their spot in their respective Conference's and I think those 4 teams are very dangerous if any of them enter the post-season. Just a feeling at the moment.

The Patriots? They're there, but not nearly the top of the heap. The Cowboys are the number one sports franchise in all of sports in this country. They beat out the fucking Yankees. The only other more valuable sports franchise in the world is Manchester United. And they're a fucking soccer team. I give the Patriots props, but they'll never scrub the scrotums of the Cowboys. Ever.

remember-atl lost the first game of the year against pitt in ot because of an interception...a game that couldve gone either way. They beat Baltimore already handily, as well as NO. Coach Mike Smith is really calling out the fans to be extremely loud in the Ga Dome this sunday for GB. The fans here are stoked and extremely ready to go off....atl wins this one convincingly.

I didn't say valuable Rick. I said best well run franchise. I know all the lists out there. Of course the most worthy in terms of dollars are the Yankees, Cowboys, Lakers, Red Wings, etc.

SI had a list of the "Best Value Team" or some shit like that....it included the play on the field/court/ice, the arena, the prices of tickets, the front office, etc, everything. That's why I discounted the fact that the Buffalo Sabres were number 1.

To put things into perspective: Since the NFL merger in 1970, the best winning percentage in the League is the Pittsburgh Steelers @ .607. That's 40 years of domination. The Miami Dolphins rank second with .602. Funny how Dallas isn't even mentioned!

New England has been a very respectable franchise since 2001, mainly because of Bellichick, Robert Kraft, and finding Brady and Adam Vinatieri. Before 2001, the Patriots were just a middle of the pact team that had hit and miss years. Even though the Pats have been dominant in this decade, the Steelers and Colts have been neck and neck with them through and through. It was Pittsburgh who the Pats needed to get through in those 2 Title games and it was Indianapolis who Pittsburgh needed to get through in 2005 as well.

As of now: The Pats, Steelers & Colts are the NFL's best franchise's in the present day.

I'm digging the criteria because it levels the playing field. Interesting. Hmm ... I'd like to submit the Minnesota Twins. Man, they really know how to run an organization on a small budget, have a beautiful park and always contend beause (unlike the fucking Cubs :x ) they play the game right.

I would definitely add Green Bay into that sentence, and maybe the Jets too...and I am not so sure of the Colts anylonger. They are on the downhill side of their Manning era apex.

I would certainly add Green Bay to that list, them being the oldest NFL franchise and still being relevant yearly in contending for a championship as well as history. The Jets, eh, not so much. Up until a couple seasons ago to where they acquired Favre, the Jets were nothing but the Giants red-headed step brother. The Giants shared the Meadowlands with the Jets, not the other way around.

It's all about chemistry. Look at Belichick. I remember my friend who is the quintessential Browns fan pissing all over him, calling him the sorriest coach ever. But he's found his chemistry in New England. Whether it's the owner or players, they all have to gel, and that they sure have.

So? The Pats were also the #3 seed playing in Foxboro. You know, the place they NEVER lose. Welker wouldn't of been that big of a difference considering the fact N.E got their ass chewed up physically between the tackles and got severely beatdown defensively all game long.

Who gives a fuck?!?! Brady threw 2 early picks, fumbled and their defense was carved up by Ray Rice and the Ravens' running game for over 200 yards. Was Welker planning on playing linebacker or something?!?! Your excuses are too much, man. They lost because they weren't better. Period.

I believe that as well. I believe that's the problem with teams like Washington, or even your Dallas Cowboys. Teams like the Steelers, Patriots, and Colts are allowed to be run by football minds (coaches, assistants, player personal, etc.) Teams like Washington and Dallas have power hungry owners that feel the need to run the team from all angles and base the team around what they think their needs are, even though they aren't in-tune of what the team really needs, which should be up to the head coach and his staff, something Jones doesn't give his head coach the benefit of the doubt to make those decisions.

How does it feel Trav to know NE is 9-2, and easily could have been 10-1...all without a Running game, Pass rush, The Slouch, and starting 4 rookies on defense...must really stick in the craw of football nation that the best run franchise in the NFL is doing all this with seemingly so little.

The Patriots are able to defy conventional winning "formulas" because the players have bought into the single most important concept in sports ... winning (and losing) as a team. That's all they care about. It's a beautiful thing to watch and the more talented teams could learn a lot, but they won't. The Patriots, from top to bottom, have the best overall environment in professional sports.
