NAKED MAILMAN: Wisconsin Postal Worker Delivers Mail In The Buff

A postal worker in the small town of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, eight miles north of Milwaukee, was arrested at the North Shore Post Office last Thursday for wearing an unsanctioned uniform while making his rounds. That is, no uniform at all.

The 52-year-old man allegedly walked into an office building to deliver mail wearing only a smile. According to Whitefish Bay Now, which cites a town police report, the man has since admitted to the nude delivery, saying "he was sorry and it was a stupid thing to do."

The Associated Press reports that the postman was hoping to cheer up a woman working at the office, who he said seemed stressed. The AP also says the woman "dared him to do it," but Whitefish Bay Now says the woman has denied encouraging the delivery of any sort of special package. Still, she says she doesn't believe he intended any harm.

The postman was arrested for "lewd and lascivious behavior," a Class A misdemeanor in Wisconsin.

I've just spent the last month and half trying to figure out their ACS system. After talking to a dozen post office employees, each with different answers, and after seeing how they implemented the IM Barcode, it does not shock me in the least that they lost 8 1/2 billion dollars last year. Total lack of efficiency.

As a former Mail Carrier, I know exactly how and why they lost almost a billion a month.

1) USPS loses a shitload of money by home shippers cheating on shipping. I was friends with the girl who handled that stuff at my Station. She would weigh(on her own, because the P.O. doesn't double check) random packages and would that more times than not there was a discrepancy in weight. Verdict: Lost revenue.

2) Mail Carriers milking clock. Taking 2 hour lunches. And thousands of carriers milking and cheating the workman's comp system.

3) Inefficient policies and rules. I've sat and waited many times for my DPS(letter mail) from the sub-contracted trucking company who is supposed to be on-time...also, the post office is horrible are delegating extra work. For instance during Prime Time - which is the carriers' vacation time - which lasts from around May 17th-ish to Oct 20th-ish...a station is allowed to have(well my station was at least) 9 carriers out per day! So that is 9 routes that need to be covered by the carriers who aren't on vacation. Those 9 routes are split up and divied out to the remaining carriers. So in essense, the remaining carriers have to do their route plus part of another...the point is that these carriers just end up taking days off just because they can....which leaves many carriers to end up going overtime. after 10 hours you go into what they call V-Time(double time)...the supervisors kick and claw trying to get you off the clock before you hit V-time....and get this: Around Xmas time - they cancel V-time...so you could work 14 hours and never get doubletime.

Do you think this is directly tied in w/the naked postman, and the special delivery ?!?
This is hysterical and would have cheered me up tremendously ...especially w/all the holiday stress!!
I hope he gets off w/a little slap on the hand!!

I would rather see a postal worker lose his mind this way...than with a gun.

Here in California, it looks like they route every Filipino/Vietnamese straight from immigration at the Airport to the post office to pick up an employment app.

This old dumb debate again. Sure there is less productivity at USPS because there is NO competition(letters). Combine that with the fact that a person can send a stamped letter from Everett, WA to Palm Beach, FL for 44 cents. That is the greatest deal in the world, bar none. Oh, and it gets there in 2-3 days. I'd call that pretty darned efficient.

As soon as the USPS goes under, like many of you here suggest they do and hope for as well, you will all be bitching in a matter of months. You can't email everything.

IMHO, and if I were Postmaster General, I would NEVER allow the cancellation of Saturday delivery. In fact, I would increase frequency to 7 day a week service. That's something neither fedEx or UPS want. Weekend delivery is the forte of the USPS. With creative scheduling, they could hire the exact amount of workers needed without going overboard. That. and a more precise hiring method where a more stringent hiring process is implemented, the USPS can be a shining star.

Funny you mentioned that MG. When I saw the post on the boards a few days ago about "vibrato", I couldn't help but wonder which of our members lost their sex toy

Dude, nobody wants the USPS to go under. The USPS is cheaper than FedEx and UPS. However, I AM sick of hearing how the USPS is losing a bazillion dollars every year, when they keep jacking up postage practically every year now, take longer on some services than they used to, and (my main gripe), they thought it was a good idea to eliminate Global Priority with Tracking. We know have to shell out for Express International to get Tracking on a package leaving our borders. Suckcess!

I'm also sick of hearing the universal "we're losing money because people email instead of write," etc., etc. First off, people sending emails regularly is something we all weren't doing twenty-odd years ago, anyway. (More people are getting into texting, anyway, in lieu of). Emails aren't costing anybody anything. I'd say allowing faxed signatures on official documents is what might cost the USPS some revenue. You never hear that brought up.

If anything, I think the existence of Amazon, eBay, CDUniverse, and other huge online vendors have brought more revenue to shippers. Yes, a lot of people do use UPS, but that's because they've gotten sick of the USPS's antics.
