Teddybear Toss......

Postby Deb » Sun Dec 19, 2010 10:51 am

Every year the Calgary Hitmen (hockey team co-owned and named after Brett Hart) have a stuffed toy drive for sick kids. Great charity and just had to share this video, sooooooo cool to see thousands of stuffed toys (in plastic bags) all thrown down onto the ice at the same time. Thanks Treetop.

Just puts a smile on your face............. :D

Did you mean this one? "My own Teddy Bear found this to be a very racist video and very offensive. He was traumatized." Pardon my french, but there's always gotta be one fuckin' idiot.

But most of the rest are great.......mind you I only looked at the first couple pages.

You should see my daughters face as she watches this video..pure joy..and that's what it's all about!

Actually, for this event, the teddy bears are wrapped in plastic bags so they aren't damp from the ice and become wrecked. That way, they are given to children in perfect condition. Also, although $ is good to donate, it's always the thought that counts too. A 5$ bill given to a charity doesn't say the same as a hockey player hand delivering a teddy bear to a child in a hospital, brightening up his day.

No - like these:

Ha ha! Proud of you guys, bro. America changes the world, Canada chucks teddy bears.

I don't think this is the most intelligent way to donate things...

if they really cared they would of tossed money onto the ice for charity

This is a preview of how people around the world dump Dollars the day Obama administration finally spends it into collapse

By the way, they've adopted this tradition here with our junior team - it really is cool to be there for it.

If there is any reason to hate america it is because this country continues to police the world, dumps gazzilions of dollars to other countries - countries, mind you, that snicker behind our backs, and continually ignore the plight of it's own citizens.

This country worries about oil, placing puppet governments in every 3rd world nation, and lining it's own governmental pockets.....if there's ever a reason to hate america - it should have nothing to do with one limpdick waxing pathetic on a youtube comment board....

For someone living in BC, it is bizarre how come you root for such a shitty club in Alberta. Have you not noticed that the team in Vancouver is pretty damned good? Not too late for you to hop on the bandwagon.

I'm a Calgarian, always will be, even if I live here the rest of my life. I've tried, just can't bring myself to get on that Canuck wagon . I don't dispute they're having a much better year than the Flames (so far  )

I know, they have been sucking lately, they gotta get rid of Sutter. But when the Flames are ON there is nothing comparable in the league to being in the 'Dome during a Stanley Cup playoff game, that video is bang on when it comes to Flames fans.

No offence deb, The Saddledome is by far the worst arena in the NHL. Aside from nassau Coliseum out on the island, they need to raize these piece of shit structures. I'll tell you, Alberta better pony up for both the Oilers and Flames or you will likely lose one or both to someplace in the US.

We are in the day of luxury boxes and suites. Every arena in the NHL aside from EDM, NYI and CGY are beautiful and new. Those three I just mentioned are shit. They are old and decrepit. The league wants new arenas in place at those three locales. Those arena lose money compared to others around the league. The Flames can hold as much as Vancouver or Toronto, but those two arenas will gross millions more than Calgary for the reasons I listed...luxury suites.

The taxpayers of Alberta are cheap. If they don't vote for sales tax increases to build new arenas, you can say goodbye to definitely one of your two teams(likely Edmonton), and maybe both.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about? The Saddledome is a one of kind arena (shaped like a saddle). It has tons of luxury boxes/suites. I've even watched a couple concerts in them. It isn't old or decrepit by any stretch, it was built in '83 and had more renovations in '95. If it doesn't make as much as Vancouver or Toronto, it has nothing to do with hockey, believe me, they sellout every game. It would have more to do with more music acts, etc. playing just Vancouver and Toronto when they hit Canada.

I don't know anything about needing the 'more luxury suites' thing - haven't heard that. And no offense to you - but how many games/concerts have you actually been to at the Saddledome? Old and decrepit? It's still a beautiful, well maintained building. I can't speak for Edmonton, haven't been to that arena in years.

Well I just learned I have no idea what I am talking about so I will refrain from commenting further.

I have been to the SD 6 times. 3 Flames games, a Junior Hockey game Canada v USA and two concerts, Bryan Adams and Nickelaback. Like I said though, I don't know anything, so I will leave it at that.
