Any fans of Dann Huff/Giant??

I think they were a great band and Huff was/is certainly a fine guitarist. I think it's interesting how he morphed his career into becoming a country producer. He has cited Mutt Lange as one of his favorite producers, so that might be why some of the newer country acts, especially those produced by Huff, have a bit of a pop/rock element to their sound. I know that Keith Urban pretty much works exclusively with Dann.

Here are a couple of cool YT videos from Huff's instructional video from the early '90s. He covers everything from his sound and gear and coming up with guitar parts and ideas, to playing a couple of Giant songs from "Time To Burn":

"Time To Burn"
"Stay"
Parts/Groove

Here is a cool interview Dann did with Premier Guitar earlier this year.

And this is a song that never gets old for me...
"I'll See You In My Dreams"

Huge Giant fan! Huff is definitely one hell of a guitarist, and also a great singer. It's a shame he wasn't on the last album. :( He does stay busy as hell with his producing, and you can see his name on a TON of albums that come out of Nashville! Glad to see someone be successful doing what they love! That's a very rare thing these days.

good band, good singer, good guitarist. Both of the two real albums are good, and Time to Burn is one of the best in my collection.

The John Schlitt solo album "Shake" had both the Huff brothers on it:

John Schlitt - Lead vocals
Dann Huff - Guitars, Bass, Drums and percussion, Keyboards, Background vocals
David Huff - Drums and percussion, Shaker, Background vocals
Mark Heimermann - Keyboards, Drums and percussion, Background vocals
Blair Masters - Additional Keyboards
Jackie Street - Bass
Joe Spivey - Mandolin, Violin

Here is a cut from it:

It was a Christian album, so it never received much national recognition.

It was a pretty good album. Not as good as his stuff with Petra but still good.
