Lincoln Chafee....says he's gonna repeal the E-Verify statue in which employers check on employees eligibility to work in the United States....says he doesn't want to harass people....
"Tomorrow I will rescind the so-called E-verify Executive Order," he said. "However well intentioned it may have been, it has caused needless anxiety within our Latino community without demonstrating any progress on illegal immigration ....an issue I strongly believe must be solved at the federal level."
As one man said on the news, 'This is just Chafee pandering to the immigrant voters who got him in office'
This country is going to hell....in a fucking gull-winged Delorean

Oh please. Your buddy W was basically looking the other way when his corporate friends were hiring Jose and Julio right from across the fucking border.

Why does it always come back to W. for you guys? He has been out of Office for 2 years, this is RIGHT NOW, we can't change the past but we can change the future...and besides that...how about you rustle up some proof to back up your statement?
Come on...you think this is a GOOD idea? NOT to verify if people are legally allowed to be here and work?
Those jobs that "Jose and Julio" are taking could go to actual citizens. (Insert comment about how these are jobs Americans don't want to do).

W is our go to guy. The well is NEVER dry when we need to pull up bad shit on the repubbies...and W always delivers...
I don't know enough or anything at all for that matter on this RI bill/law, but never liked Chafee at all.

E-verify is not equipped to handle the load for all companies and is allowed only for new hires. Many new laws do not include ability for defense, should E-verify mess up. Get it refined to avoid errors and ramp it up to handle the volume, it might work.
Companies that knowingly hire illegals ought to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Those that commit identity fraud should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Those importing illegals should be too.
However, the government has been allowing this too long (before and after ol' GW) to suddenly take it out on businesses. Our government fucked up, but now...let's go after business.
When the domestic worker finally decides to show up on time, wanting to work hard, obey safety rules, not call in sick everyother day, not bitch about silly work rules, find ways to be more productive and not show up hungover or in a drug induced daze...then they have a right to complain. Companies are still looking for folks that will do the above...even in these times.
