Man, I can't tell you how much I loved seeing this story today. I NEEDED to hear a story like this to put things in perspective. I've had a pretty shitty day at work today, and it's easy to get on the "poor me" wagon. Hearing this story just made my day. This is the best story I've heard in a long time, and I just hope and pray that this guy gets a new start in life. He is amazingly talented, and has one of the coolest voices I've ever heard. God bless him.

This man has one of the best speaking voices that I have ever heard. He's up there with Don LaFontaine and if a radio station doesn't grab him, then Hollywood should make him the next famous voiceover.
I'm hoping to hear about this guy hitting it big, he deserves it. He's really cool, not just a great voice.

Aww, that's great for him! He sounds sincere and humbled by what he's been through and hopefully he will stay that way. His voice sounds absolutely professional. God bless the guy who actually took time to talk with him on camera and post it on youtube. Nice to see good news for once.

Throw this bum back on the side of the highway. He has a 20 year criminal history and there's a reason he wasn't employed. He's not a "hard luck" case like he tries to purport. He's a guy that dug his own grave. I do, however, suspect he'll be a millionaire because our society loves these "reality" shows. But the reality remains that this guy is a fucking bum and a criminal.

I agree, but after 20 years of "second chances" I think it's time to leave this guy on the side of the highway. If he acts like a loser, looks like a loser and lives like a loser ... he's a fucking loser. But he'll have more money than me in about a month.

Not sure what's in the guy's criminal past. If it's drugs or tax evasion, I don't care. If it's a violent crime, then yeah, I agree with Dan. It's really WEIRD to hear that voice coming out of that head...

I think I agree with you Dan. Maybe I'm just jaded as a cop's wife, or just in general. But I don't think people turn around that easy. It's a lifestyle and that is something very hard to change. Even the most straight laced of society when given a gold mine of money in a lottery spend it stupidly and most end up losing everything they gained. This guy has no chance of knowing how to deal with this, and he'll miss his life of crime and whatever else he was into, that he way more comfortable in. You may THINK that ALL people on the streets don't want to be there. For some it is a lifestyle though. I know that makes no sense, but it is mental health at play too in some cases, or alcoholism. It would be nice to be an optimist here and hope he "learned and will make himself a better person" with an opportunity now, but chances are pretty slim. I hope I'm wrong though and he is the exception.

Thin Lizzy- yeah, I thought that too. With bad teeth!

Hopefully he's kicked the drug habit and whomever hired him had the good sense to
drug test by hair sample!! He does have a great voice and he does deserve a
second chance, but if he hasn't made the decision to be drug free and clean
up all of his other problems, as well, he's useless to everyone and himself!! *serious face*

eh, I wouldn't say "perfect" Angel. I mean, the guy made choices to be a criminal, right? If it was stuff beyond his control and he just messed up, that's one thing, but criminal choices? I don't think that's a question of perfection. That's a question of being a bad guy- isn't it?

A mistake is someone thinking they can shop lift a lipstick and not get caught... did you READ his rap sheet??? This was not a mistake. It was his LIFESTYLE. There are thugs like this on the streets everywhere. 2 of which were caught in our town yesterday, for stealing wallets and purses out of cars while people worked out in their fitness clubs. They had this gig going on for 2 years in our county, and were not caught until now. People like this aren't making "mistakes'. They are common criminals. His begging money on the road is just another scam way of getting money.

Drugs make people do a lot of stupid things. I have a close friend that also got into drugs 15 years ago and he was busted for many burglaries. After a 2 year prison stint, he completely flipped his life around. He cut himself off from ANY of his old friends that did drugs (which is hard for a musician), he works and he doesn't even bother with alcohol. While it's true that most people will never learn, there are still a few that do. I think Ted seems genuinely honest that he wants to change.
