First one that comes to mind is Rik Emmett, when he played with Triumph he played to thousands and thousands, and on his own now plays in bars/clubs, doesn't mean he is any less talented than he was by any means? If you guys are only deeming arena shows worth with your presence, you are missing out on a helluva lot of great music and artists/bands!

There is some mega talented artists from the 70s/80s playing clubs, bars and casinos nowadays. So if you're not U2, Bon Jovi, Springsteen or Metallica you're not talented and unworthy of "cool"?

Oh pleeeaaassse. Rik Emmett? Dude is very average at best. He sings like a girl.....on their one and only recognizable song, he sounds like a parakeet in falsetto. Guy is not majorly talented Deb. Other than that example, name me ONE band playing clubs who are worth a shit troday? REO? The Cars? The Band? LOL, Styx? These bands at one time were decent, but today??/ pure shit. Hell, the Tragically Hip are better than all those bands I just listed, and they play clubs!
Oh and Wools, if you are a once proud 80's band who now play the casino circuit, you pretty much suck ass.

usually I agree with you on the bars/clubs vs stadiums, but we're talking Metallica ! They are truly in a whole another level above BonJovi/Journey ....
They have the talents and they sell out. They have a band thats been together for years making lots of GREAT songs,,, songs that I think would have been great even without being on the radio. In fact half their amazing catalog was solid and great to me, before they became billboard material.
Metallica is one band you can not dis in your arguments, sorry.
