Joe Quesada has already alluded to Torch's return in some other form, eventually, saying only that it will be "interesting."

I think the only "deaths" that ever mattered to me were Captain Marvel's (the Marvel Graphic Novel), Supergirl's & Flash's in Crisis, and especially Elektra's (now her resurrection at the hands of Miller was neato), and I'm sure there are others but I can't remember. Otherwise, it's all gimmicky shit.

Resurrections are always tricky. There is the age old debate about whether Glorfindel (who carries a wounded Frodo to the Ford of Bruinen) is the same person that died after the Fall of Gondolin or who confronted the Witch-king of Angmar at the Battle of Fornost. Tolkien says it is so but still, there are doubts.
