Saw him on the Face The Promise tour. One of the best shows I've seen.

I like some of Seger's music but the guy sounded like he should've retired the last time I heard any live stuff from him and that was several years ago now.

Yeah, I never could understand why folks flock to see all these aging has-beens. If you didn't see them in their hey-dey, forget about it...

 Fuck that nonsense! :P Some sound just as good now as they did on the material back then. Proof positive......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjfd5yY2Y5s&feature=fvst

You have been informed thusly.

some are still very good live these days....some actually might be better live now than they were back in the day.

The other side of it is that some of us might not have had the chance to see them live back in the day, so it's either now or not see band x at all. Some, admittedly, are better off skipping.

Seger opened for KISS and Black Sabbath? Those are certainly a pair of strange tour pairings.

Sort of like Kansas opening for Def Leppard this Summer. Wouldn't have pictured it a decade back but the craziness of the music business these days makes anything possible.

ITS THE MUSIC of Seger and the Silver Bullet Band... to me similar to Bruce and the E streeters... just a midwest version of life... and not a Jersey version of life...

Kansas has some harder rock stuff they could pull out and I'm hoping they do that. There's a much bigger difference between Seger and KISS or Black Sabbath, though, than between Kansas & Def Leppard.

bob seger has put out some amazing music over his career.bullet bob opened for kiss on the destroyer tour back in '76 right about the time he got his first gold album for 'live bullet'.wasn't too long before that when kiss also got its first gold album with a live album also theirs was 'alive'.

if you had to ask me my favorite seger album it would be 'night moves' one of the best albums of that era....

While I knew your link would be Mr Big, I glance at it and then promptly close the window, and while your MB love is nauseating(like Natalie and Gator), you DO make a point here. Many of the bands today are better than they were in the 80's. Also, for those that aren't so what? They are still the same band you grew up with(ok, except journey...they have had more changes than Jon Boehner has had spray tans), but yeah Deb, S2M is retarded and comes across as real bitter. I guess he expects us all to go check out Crazy Lixx? His musical tastes are among the worst in history. I would rather watch The Baghdad Classic from Iraq, where the world's best conditioned camels trot around the outskirts of the Tigris River enroute to a blistering photo finish at the Presidential Palace.

I feel old too!! My first 'real' arena concert was Bob Seger/KISS in 1976. I was only 13 and the show was pretty amazing! I wouldn't bother to go see either one of them now though.
