I didn't think it was so bad. Could have swore I caught a glimpse of Tom Cruise's profile.

Yeah I saw it on the news and it's too hard to see what it is, but the speed it took off straight up with was neat to see, lol.

What about this. Some sci-fi freaky people think that the Mayans and Egyptian civilizations had too much knowledge and figured out too many things quickly, for their time. They also had drawings of flying objects and other creatures. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. What if aliens came down to earth, taught them all kinds of things, and told them they'd be back this many years later to destroy the earth... and that's why the calendar ended?  I think this would make a great sci-fi movie!!! Or was there a movie already and my dislike for sci-fi has kept me from it?

No, it doesn't. 12/21/2012 is the of the 'Long Count' but it's not where the Mayan Calendar really ends.

I doubt Jesus and his mom ever did that.

Still, you might want to tone down your hair-trigger expletives, or I'll hogtie you and lower you into a vat of vegetable oil — the kind used to cook French fries.

I know! I was saying that for all "those" who believe in it! I don't happen to believe that anything will happen. Or that it really "ended". :)

Wow the Rosicrucians was a boring read, (i'll have to go back) but the georgia guidestones is a trip - check it out if you haven't already, The Ten commandments for the modern age: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_Guidestones

And in Georgia?

Yeah, hard to continue or start a new calendar when a prolonged draught cuts your population by two third and then later, what's left of your empire gets razed by Conquistadors.

They just had a program about that Thursday night on History. Those stones aren't long for here. Someone's already tried to pull them down and they get graffiti put on them daily. Ted Turner or who ever it was that paid for their construction didn't think to build safeguards against vandalism.

The stones went up around the time nuclear war was a real possibillty and it's thought that the stones were supposed to be modern day commandments for those who survived the impending holocuast.

It was thought that if most of the population was gone, what I quoted above would be a control number that the age after D-Day should try not to exceed.

L Ron Hubbard was probably pissed that HE didn't come up with the stones idea himself, they wuld have been a great marketing aid for Scientology back then.

Whether it ends that day or not, there are two things you can be sure of. December of 2012 will have record turnout in churches, until the 22nd, when the bars will be packed, once again.

This one was a hoax. Saw a review the other night where they showed that the horizon was very still while the foreground was shaky. Conclusion was that it was a fake background. Several people involved from various locations.

Can you link me to the review? Three different cameras, all with similar effect? As far as I can tell (and read after several pages of commentary) the jury is still out (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread658652/pg1)
