Now they bring in Usher. This heaping pile is truly a group crapfest. Nice lightbulb suits though. Now an ode to Obama. How perfect!

Are you watching Puppy Bowl VII on Animal Planet?

Awful - they're just yelling, not even singing! Frantic pace, everything sung too fast.
Agree, I like the light suits tho.

I wish I had known it was on. Damn it all. Another 30 wasted minutes of my life I won't ever get back.

The visuals are cool. And it's not THAT bad. The sound system SUCKS though! Their sound was going in and out! BEP are not known to be great live anyway. LOVED that Slash was there, and a good pick for an FU to Axle  Fergie's mic didnt even work on her first note. Ridiculous for a SB for that to happen. It was an energetic show. Maybe not the best half-time, but not the worst.

Just add the 30 minutes to all the minutes you spent posting in Obama thread :P  ;)

Well, SPH, in MY world, and as a lifelong musician, whether or not a band sounds good live and has actual talent is ALL it's about. When your music sucks, you should deliver KNOCKOUT shows. Yes, they WERE that bad. It had NOTHING to do with the sound system.

I think that would amount to several DAYS. Come on, though - RightWingFan is a changed man.

Gee, I'm so shocked a board of old people who love MR would have that take  It wasn't the worst. It was better than the Stones.

I guarantee you the NFL was ecstatic how this went down. They have wanted to get back to the younger generation's music for awhile and even if you don't care for it, this went well. The only risk happened when Usher did that jump but other than that, the Choreography was good. When you have this versus 60 year old rockers I think the choice for the NFL is obvious, go with what the kids want which is lights, dancing and multiple acts.

They SUCKED ! the vocals were horrible. They had sound issues , simply cause of the microphones they handed out to bunch of " studio singers" , who need technology to make them sound like they can sing.

I agree. The lights, visuals and choreography made for an energetic show. Better than the geriatric shows we've had to watch

Sounds like you're cheering for them just so you're "young and cool ".
The vocals were the worst vocals , yes even worse than Stones & Bruce.

I'm looking at the SHOW as a whole. You are nitpicking vocals. That's the difference.

I like Fergie, but when she sang Sweet Child with an Axle vocal inflection, was a bad bad idea. That would have went over much better in her own vocal.

Except the people with the discretionary income - us - don't want this shit, and the viewership for the 25-44 demographic is where 90% of their revenue comes from. Nice twist, but not true.

With all the dancing, I was surpised there wasn't more of the lead vocals on tape but it had definitely was better than the Who's performance. The addition of Usher was what really made the show.

LOL. I know. And that line is from a Monty Python sketch. I'm actually a little older than that. At least I still have my hair.

NO, it's a SHOW! Half-time SHOW! The show is the main idea. That's the problem with the last few years. It was about a band. Glitz and a SHOW are what football half-times are for.

I still maintain that a country act would be the most relevant at this point. Country is crossover and cool now, people of all ages like it, and you really hit a significant part of the NFL viewer base. That shit was just embarrassingly bad.

Dude, Frank Oz would sound better singing Tiny Tim while on acid than Daltrey did. However, the BEP's were just as bad,

No. I found a documentary on volcanoes on netflix. Needed back the IQ points that Fergie just killed. That halftime show made my brain feel gluey.
