Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley will conclude the Lightning Concert Series presented by Volkswagen with a show after the Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Ottawa Senators game on Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held outdoors on the West Plaza stage immediately following the game.

Is Ace even in the band? Last I knew they kicked him out. I quit trying to keep track awhile ago.

Ace hasn't been in the band in quite some time, since 2004 or so.

From what I understand when they did KISS Symphony back in 03 and the tour with Aerosmith the tour people wanted 3/4th's of the original KISS in makeup. Gene and Paul supposedly wanted Ace along with Eric Singer (Singer replaced Peter Criss in 01-02), but Ace whose contract expired with the band didn't want to come back so Gene and Paul brought in Tommy Thayer to be the guitarist for that tour/album and Criss was the drummer. After Peter's contract expired at the end of the tour they went to Singer because I just think they soured on Pete's declining skills behind the drums and wanted to play some different songs.

KISS since 2004 has been Gene, Paul, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer. Ace went out and did some club dates a couple years back and released Anomaly which was in the making longer than Chinese Democracy in 09 he toured a little in support of the album and has been doing random public events since then.
