[Poll] Which will come first - Van Halen/DLR or Steve Perry?

We've heard it all before... Steve Perry is cutting a new album... Van Halen w/DLR is cutting a new album... then nothing.

Which one of them will actually have their "new album" released first - if ever?

Vote now!

Did you forget how to make a poll?

Oh, no poll needed. The answer to both is when pigs fly with jet propulsion.

VH. Just in time for summer.

Perry will release his new record just around the time Janis Joplin and Elvis return from their 40 year zebra hunt in Rwanda to release their collection of spoken Jim Nabors and Leonard Nimoy covers.

Here's my take on it....you won't hear any new music from Steve Perry until he's dead. Then someone will get ahold of all of the unreleased material that he's recorded and put on a shelf and they'll release it as something like "The Lost Tapes". The good part about it is that I think there will be a lot of it. But not until he is gone and it's out of his control.

Which begs the question I asked a number of months ago that singers/bands should record like crazy in their early years, even if they don't end up releasing it all....I don't want The Lost Tapes of a 60-year old Perry....I'd like the Lost Tapes of a 35 year old Perry/Journey....

Well I'm certainly not going to look forward to death just to hear some
unreleased gems ...I'll go w/VH and Diamond Dave, I thought they were
in the studio anyway!

VH will release new material with Roth before Perry even sniffs a recording studio.

Uncle Steve is gonna release something as early as this summer. I doubt he'll ever sing live again, but he will release something again.

Good point. I don't think any of Perry's stuff has a "best if used by" date stamp on them.

We'll probably enter into another ice age before either one happens, although I did sign WIX's petition downstairs just in case.

Van Halen did finally reunite after 22 years or so apart.i think that was the biggest obstacle and they got over it.as far as new music i think that is definitely the main thing to do before going on another tour.Kiss reuinted after 17 years and did just a tour with no new album just like Van Halen but before they toured again they finally released a new album.

Another band i think will finally bury the hatchet after almost twenty years is Guns n Roses. They will be elgible for the hall of fame in 2012(25th anniversary of Appetite) and almost every member has now been a guest on stage with Axl.the only person not a guest has been Slash. So Axl And Slash will be the last ones to bury the hatchet and then the group will reunite.i think when they do it will be one of the biggest reunions ever.

Not quite. Michael Anthony wasn't involved. They even took him off the album cover for "Women and Children First" on their web site before fans rioted about that. If Anthony ever comes back, I'll go see the band but it's not a real reuniting of the lineup for me until he's in the band.

I don't think they deserve to be in the hall. They've had one great album and two or three really good ones. I don't think they have a good enough track record to make it in.
