Just posted on Facebook tonight.

Caveman! I'm in Nashville, producing a record for a real American icon. All I can say is, you should hear the album I'm producing now - I can't keep saying "my fave album ever", but something is going on. C'mon Joe, come join us for a song...........

Caveman! thanks Tim, if you really knew how much I love doing this ... and when I have a KILLER artist who loves it too - it is hard work, but you just don't want to do anything else.... AND I HAVE A KILLER ARTIST - seminal American songwriter who I happen to love, love, love.....

Hey Andrew do you have any idea who he's referring to?

Where ever you turn, Steve Perry's name pops up.

Seminal American songwriter? James Taylor?

Maybe Steven Tyler, or someone from the Eagles. (thinking "Joe" could be Perry or Walsh?) Hmm...

My money is on Garth Brooks. (Not a lot of money, but it's the thought that counts. )

3 "Love's" mean he is really serious, lol. Seminal American songwriter--Bob Dylan is the first one I think of but dang there are a lot of great American songwriters out there for sure...

I thought of Dylan, too. But he lives in California, so no need to go to Nashville.

I thought he was referring to Joe Bonamassa.

That's what came to mind for me, since he recorded a track for "Dust Bowl" maybe they decided to record together. I'm just wondering why the big secret?

It seems like Kevin Shirley says every album is his all time favorite.

I was thinking Hiatt at first also but as he and Vince Gill were just working with Kevin on Joe's album, I thought it might be someone different.

Whoever it is, its going to sound like shit....just like everything Shirley produces.

The fucking drunk has the worst set of ears ever bestowed upon someone granted the title of producer.
I still dont get what people see in this guy's work. Everything he records turns to fucking mud.

Someone else finished the Journey album and maybe this one will sound good. I think Shirley got to taint it a little.

I couldn't agree more, Frank. With the exception of TBF, the guy's work has been a muffled and compressed mess.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the new album, to hear this new guy's work.

But as a general rule, Shirley's work is utter shite...I could do a better job, twice as drunk as Shirley is usually...

Mystery solved. Found this tidbit in Caveman's end of 2010 blog;

I also had the opportunity to work with a hero of mine in JOHN HIATT, and after a terrific session, we’ve slated more recordings for next year, which is so exciting for me. John also makes an appearance on Joe Bonamassa’s new album, and loved Joe’s version of ‘I Know A Place’ from Joe’s Black Rock album.
