Diane Lane has been cast as the Man of Steel's adoptive mother, Martha Kent, in Warner Bros.' reboot of Superman.

Director Zack Snyder said in a statement announcing Lane's casting, "This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination."

That reason enough for me to watch it!

Speaking from a huge.... huge Superman fan, I think Snyder and WB is knocking this casting out of the PARK so far! Pretty fired up about this. Going with a "younger" type Kents, which should set Superman up in his younger years as the movie progress's. Kevin Costner is rumored to be Pa Kent, who is almost a perfect casting, especially partnered up with Lane. Superb casting so far.
