As many of you here may know, being a stubborn prick is sort of a way of life for me and I tried to maintain my gym routine through a trapezius injury. Didn't work. I jacked the ever living fuck out of my upper neck and back. I finally went to the doctor today and she gave me 3 prescriptions ... Mortin 600, Vicodin and Flexeril. The Flexeril is a type of valium (I think that's what she said), and the other 2 are for pain. My question is this; why did she give me 2 things for the pain, and is it ok to take them together? The reason I'm asking is because they're all 3 times a day, with the Flexeril being a double dose before bed ... since I haven't had a good night's sleep in a fucking week.

Motrin is for inflammation, Flexeril is a muscle relaxer and Vicodin is for pain. You must be pretty messed up to get all that stuff. You'll be like a friggin slinky.

Ask your Pharmacist about the mix of the meds........I find they are quite willing to help you not to get a bad mix of meds. Get well soon Dan!

Yep, Rick is correct. And you can take the pain killers together. My husband had 3 or 4 pills like that when he broke his arm. Vidicon is for the bad pain, but won't take care of inflammation, hence the Motrin. Hope it heels quick for you!!!

Take a few days off and be careful driving Dan. I find muscle relaxers knock me right out and all I do is sleep. The combo with Vicodin could mess you up a little. The best thing is to rest and give the medicine a chance to work.

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer, Vicodin is hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain relief, and Motrin is ibuprofen which is for inflammation. Hope you feel better soon!!

Vicodin has Acetaminophen in it, and Motrin is ibuprofen, so one goes through kidneys, and one through liver. Don't take any extra Tylenol when you're on this stuff! And it could upset your stomach! They may suggest eating with it? Maybe read the fine print from the pharmacist!

If you're really tight, a deep tissue sports massage might really help too. You might need two sessions. Moreover, a happy ending will definitely increase chances of successful recovery.
