I'd rather ask here, than VH Links. Sammy is saying one producer has been fired and Dave and Eddie have to work in seperate studios, but i'm sure this is the news from late last year, regarding Ross Hogarth. I'm sure John Shanks is still producing or it could be wrapped up, and its in mixing stage, I HOPE!!! Any news Andrew??

If the new record sounds like Van Hagar except with Dave singin, whats the point? Last thing I wanna hear is another over produced weak effort.

not really looking for any solid material on this one, sounds like ed and al haqve recorded song and are leaving dave to write lyrics, and based on the material from all the hits cds, if sam or dave dont piece together some of eds stuff its not gonna be very good,

Van Halen is notorious for not letting any news get out. Maybe Andrew can coax something out of him?

Van halen is notorious for not doing anything at all! Especially without Sammy there to make it happen...
Face it guys, we've heard the last of VH, unless money call Sammy back one more time...but I hope not...I'd rather here him and Mikey on Chickenfoot...funny thing is, everyone argues Sammy, Dave etc...
Truth is, take away Michael Anthony's harmony and back ground vocals and it's just not Van Halen...

Come on guys! They are not going to wait all these years just to do a rushed hack job. It will be at least decent. Van Halen fans have sure become cynical.

The cancellation of the European leg of the tour in 2012 can't be a good sign no matter how you twist it.
I think it's over.

Went to the opening night in Charlotte in September of '07. One of the 5 best shows I've ever seen.

When they canceled the Australian dates, I didn't worry too much figuring typical Van Halen. Obviously, I would have rather seen it go off but I didn't sweat it. I agree, this cancellation of the European tour has me very nervous and sad for that matter. I have a bad feeling big time.

I know this is going to sound really gay, but when I saw them the first of two nights in Chicago, I almost, stress almost, got a little choked up. Never had that experience with anything related to music like that. I guess when something hasn't been around since you were 9 years old and you see something you didn't think you would see again after all these false starts, it really brings out the emotions. It really brings you back to your childhood. Specifically sitting in your front room watching an old shitty TV watching music videos after school (a local UHF station, Channel 60 at the time, not MTV). Great memories. I didn't experience that when Journey or Perry came back in the mid-90's.

I agree.
NealIsGod sent me a bootleg dvd of the NY (Meadowlands Arena) show and I fogged up when they actually hit the stage, I think these guys are that important to rock.

VAN HALEN To Make Announcement At 'Grammy Nominations Concert Live'? - Nov. 4, 2011
VAN HALEN is rumored to be making a "special live announcement" at the Grammy Nominations Concert Live in Los Angeles. The 54th annual Grammy Awards' nominations will be announced on Wednesday, November 30, at 10 p.m. live from Nokia Theatre L.A. Live., and will be broadcast by the CBS network.
Toward the end of yesterday's (Thursday, November 3) press release from The Recording Academy, which produces the Grammy Awards, it was revealed that the Grammy Nominations Concert Live will feature "a special, live announcement from an iconic group regarding their historic band reunion set to take place" on the Grammy stage on February 12, 2012. This was followed up by a tweet from the official Grammys Twitter account which read: "Who do u predict the reuniting band will be @ #GRAMMYnoms? Does this hint make u wanna 'Jump' & 'Dance the Night Away'?"
Grammy Nominations Concert Live will once again be hosted by the two-time Grammy winner and producer of the show LL Cool J.
The 54th annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on the CBS television network at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 8 p.m.

What the fuck! And I bet your a first in line buyer when it comes out, cause it will sell more than any rock release in the last 5 years! But I agree with the time frame thing S2M. Hell, I wish they would, like any of our favorite bands, put out new music at least once every 2 years. It's never going to happen, just got to grin & bear it.

Sure they're dysfunctional. But some of the best music comes out of dysfunction. Just ask Fleetwood Mac.
I haven't looked forward to an album this much since 1996 (Journey - Trial by Fire). Eddie's guitar and Dave's voice are made for each other. No way this is anything less than awesome.
