Wow. Just about every one of these songs sucks donkey balls, although Gretchen has a great voice.

Country music is the lowest common denominator. There are a select few country songs I love (Pretty Little Adriana, My Maria), but for the most part, it's just awful.

Irony of ironies... there are loads of 80's songwriters, studio engineers and session players who now make their living in Nashville... many industry folk attribute this as the reason the music out of Nashville is more contemporary than country...

I love country...old country, new country, I like it all. I know a lot of people (especially in this circle) don't like it...and that's OK, they don't have to listen to it, but I like it.

I love his newest album. And this song about Nicole is so beautiful and I love the banjos and violins (or fiddles. Can't tell) in it. The video is so beautiful but simple. I love the home movies of them on the wall as he's singing.

Without You - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2Eo1PtWKio

Shorter version in official video. it doesn't capture the sound of the instruments as well, but a beautiful video

Dixie Chicks are favorites of mine. Love this cover of Landslide. Perfect live performance.

You have to admit, most country music videos are boring. She did the video better than many CW stars. Great dancers and choreography. And the horse was magnificant. Such a beautiful animal.

Re your link, yes, love them. Great link, Steve. Probably one of the best songs in country music. right now.

Can we please agree that Rap is the lowest common denominator??

I'll vote hell yes!
Rap has zero social redeeming value. Anyone who listens to it and likes it ought to have their ass shot off.

EEEK, I do not like country, but I do appreciate a great voice no
matter the genre ...as I said in an earlier thread, Wynonna has
a voice I LOVE...one of the best ever!! Love GARTH, too ...and these two can rock!!

Mooney mentioned Patsy in another
thread ...Geeezuz I love her voice, none of that whiney, twangy stuff and true
emotional delivery!!
I guess that's why I don't like country...looonnnggg drawn out whiney words
trying to replicate emotion!!

The only country artist I like much is Alabama. Other than that, I like a few songs by Garth Brooks but that's about it. The rest is garbage.
