The Darwin award is for taking yourself out of the gene pool by your own stupidity, not taking someone else out.

This child is getting a free college education and a car when he's 16 ...the parents
will be living high on the hog, as well, for pain and suffering!! While the mislabeling
was a huge error, an even bigger error, to me, was the waiter/waitress/food technician,
who is not aware of what applejuice looks like and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the idiots
who gave birth to this little future alcoholic ...what mother does not know what
apple juice looks like, smells like and does not check food/drink out herself before
allowing it to go into her child's mouth?! ...at least, it seems, he'll be a happy
drunk!!

Well Applebees usually put kid's juice in a non transparent cup, so you wont see the juice really. And I dont smell and drink samples of my kid's juice when the waitress brings it, do you ?? :?

When they were 15 mo. old, yes!!
But I also took their sippy cups wherever I went, as well!! I taste tested everything especially at
a restaurant. Now that they're old enough to communicate, they can tell me ...mmmmm good apple juice!!

I never did either... but if I'd read this article back then, I'd start!!  What I can't get is how the kid didn't make faces when they tasted it! And actually liked it! I can't imagine that at all!

The problem here was in labeling at the bar??? Why is apple juice for children being dispensed at a bar in the first place?? I didn't know that places "pre-mix" their margaritas either. Must be a crappy bar!

So now in their 20's they can tell you that?? Good job!! ;)   You're a better mom than me! I am too trusting I guess! I just wouldn't think about it coming from some "labeled" thing in a bar. I would think it would be in some original container, that actually HAD an apple juice real label on it!!

Well, it didn't come from mistrust ...my mom made me do it!! I think she thought the food here in LA was too spicey
and then it just became a habit, I thought all moms taste tested for temp., flavor, etc?!? Oh geez, my girls are going to be pissed when
they find out it's not normal to let me eat first!!

Which can cause seizures in a child that size, so yes it IS a big deal. Or maybe you haven't reached peds in your studies yet? Though this is just common sense :P

And yeah B, when my kids were littler I just brought a sippy cup so they didn't get restaurant drinks until they got big enough to eat from the kids' menu, lol, and then at that point no I don't always check what they are drinking because they can talk and tell us when something tastes different I guess is my thinking  . I'm a horrible mother! I guess I should start checking, I mean shit, their root beers could rum and cokes!  Or their chocolate milk might be a black russian!

I'm surprised he didn't spit it back into his sippy/crunk cup and shout "Where's my Fucking Grape Drink, Bitch?"
